Some of statements made by the President, head of SSB and commander of the navy at the commissioning of the 4 naval ships ( TCG ISTANBUL (F-515) — MARLIN SİDA (TCB1101) — TCG DERYA (A-1590) — TCG ÜTĞM. ARİF EKMEKÇİ (A-575)) into the Turkish navy:

- Budget size of Turkish defense projects reached $90 billion
- $5.5 billion defense exports in 2023 and $10.24 billion worth of defense contracts were signed in 2023
- A total of 62 modern ships have been added to naval inventory in the last 15 years.
- 6 REİS class submarines, 3 İSTİF class frigates, 2 HİSAR class offshore patrol ships, 3 different types of USV and 4 fuel ships, which are currently being tested and under construction, will enter the inventory in a short time.
- With ATMACA (AShM), AKYA (HWT) and SAPAN (name of the naval variant of Hisar-RF launched by MIDLAS), foreign dependency in our navy's striking weapon systems will come to an end.
- We continue to work non-stop to get TF-2000 and our aircraft carrier under construction.

Interesting, but do these reports also post some information how far along the development is, what milestones have been reached? Just announcing that you want to have an engine ready by 2028 that delivers almost 170 kN of thrust sounds great, but also quite unrealistic when you consider how long it took other nations to achieve something similar.

TRMotor timeline is the best I can do for now

+ Record development of the TS1400 from scratch to FF in 6 years and 2 weeks vs 8-9 years compared to more experienced engine makers (LHTEC T800 and Safran Arrano)
+ 3rd gen CMSX-10 material which performs up to 30% better than it's counterparts.
+ Serious state support for development of CMC for engines (started in late 2020 and yesterday singed into life).
+ Rumors that RR and Kale have joined the engine development too.

Did the source mention if the engine core is indigenous or based on another design?
He didn't afaik, but I doubt that.

From what people have asked TRMotor and TEI engineers at fairs and teknofests, the picture is that they want to get the best from both the East and West.

To give an example of the above, Ivchenko Progress is involved in the development, while at the same time Turkish engineers have the F110 flowchart hanging on the walls of their cubicles :)
