If they are able to pull that, it will be quite impressive but staying with F110 is their plan B solution ? Not a lot of engine development have gone without hurdles...
Well, the previous head of SSB talked about a certain plan B if the F110 weren't delivered, by getting engines from a different source (Russia or China).

But we can see the step by step accumulation of critical technologies and design and test experience progressing very rapidly. Will they manage to have the engine fly by 2028? I dunno but I'm sure one day they'll succeed without too many delays.

yes, I was at Teknofest, I will share some stuff when I have time to write

AESA radar that was present "MURAD" was not a mock-up but a real one with real LRUs, signal computing unit, cooling unit, antenna array etc.

It is going to fly next month, it is suitable for both Akıncı and F-16 Özgür, we will see them enter service on F-16s by 2025, probably earlier with Akıncı.

Kızılelma will have a model based on this, probably a different cooling system and maybe better signal computing as it uses a fuel cooling system.

For Kaan's BÜRFİS, they are cooking something even better, they are working on systems that cover wider frequencies, better EW capabilities, better algorithms/software, better and more modules, better and more signal computing units (MURAD works on 1, iirc 3 is planned for BÜRFİS)

All the antenna's on Kızılelma, Kaan and Anka-3/4 will be conformal, they will also feature a conformal Karetta Anti-JAM GNSS.

Toygun BEOS features a day TV sensor, which was not stated in the brochure, tests with it mounted on Kızılelma to start in coming months.

KARAT IRST is an unified IRST system for all aerial platforms Turkey developed that can support it's size/weight.

TEI/TUSAŞ is expecting to deliver T-625 Gökbey's with TS-1400 in 2024.
As you have seen TF-6000/10000 first parts are ready, they are blisk and compressor stages have single crystal blades.

I asked TRMotor about the development and the reply was "our goal is to fly Kaan with national engine by late 2028"

Not much was to be seen at Roketsan

TEI General Manager Faruk Akşit: (TEI-TF6000/TEI-TF10000 engines)

We have completed the first design cycle of the TF6000 and TF10000 engine family. We have started manufacturing the first prototype engine.

We want to complete its production before the end of the year. As a first stage surprise, the rotating parts of our engine, especially the fan group in front of it, the high pressure compressor group right behind it, the production of the rotating parts is finished, and we brought it here.

Some people say it is a plastic model, they can see the real thing here. This is the difficult part. We have completed the rotating parts, especially the three-dimensional profiles, the quality of the processes and various operations, and it is now ready. On the other hand, the production of the outer shell, the carcass of the engine, is also ongoing.

As the second phase, we aim to bring that part to TEKNOFEST in Izmir.

We are trying to bring the real metal of the TF6000 engine, of which you can see the plastic here, to TEKNOFEST Izmir.

Our goal is to complete the production before the end of this year. On the other hand, our work to develop a test setup that will test this engine continues in parallel.

As soon as the production of the engine is completed, we want to finish and install it simultaneously and start the first engine. If nothing goes wrong, we hope to hear the sound of an engine before the end of this year, God willing.

I hope that during the testing of the TF6000/10000, further improvements to the engine can be discovered, like omitting the 2nd and 3rd HP variable stator stages, use of composite fan ducts (confirmed), shortening the distance between the LPC and HPC sections, use of better turbine blades with or without TBC.

I have the feeling that the 6000lbf and 10000lbf are lowball estimated and that the engine is capable of much more. I've already guesstimated the TWR of the TF10000 based on the AI-322F and F125 engines. I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually reaches a TWR of 10:1 in the end.

TEI General Manager Mahmut Akşit:

- Following the national engine PD170 comes the more powerful, 225-horsepower PD222. It will be ready for flight next year
- Successfully passed endurance tests
- We are continuing with the flight profile tests requested from us. It doesn't take much time.
- We're even looking at even more powerful engines, we're working on it. (PD300?)
- We will continue this race
- We plan to deliver the first 2 engines (TS1400) in serial production before the end of 2024
- We have reached the technological level of manned flight with TS1400.
- The first stage is to confirm that the design is of international standard and quality. This phase is almost over. One of the 10 stages remains. We will complete it before the end of the year
- From now on, we will demonstrate, one by one, that the engine meets the tests required under international conditions
- There is no need for civil certification for military applications. It is enough to show the customer that we meet the requirements

CEO of TAI, Kotil stated the following:
  • KAAN will be able to operate simultaneously with dozen of ANKA-3s.
  • We have been working on KAAN's national engine for two years. In 2028, the first indigenous engine will be installed on KAAN.
  • Various tests shows that radar signal absorption material will be used in KAAN is superior to RAM paint used in American F-35 fighter jets.
  • KAAN will be the best and earliest delivered fighter jet in Europe zone.
thanks to @dBSPL for the summary

I think they need to calm down expectations before it bites them back. They got some nice developments lately for sure. Optimism is nice but going to far make Turkey starting to sound like Indians going full Jay Hind.
