So now we have as confirmed TB2 operators and future operators: Turkey, Qatar, Libya, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Poland and potentially Hungary, Kazachstan, Serbia, Latvia and Bulgaria.

Man it looks like they are cornering the Eastern market. This is pretty hard especially given the historic and some current bad blood between Turkey and some Eastern European states.

One would be surprised how good the relations are between Turkey and the Eastern-European countries. It should tell one enough that even Serbia has good relations with Turkey. And now with Poland in the bag, the rest of the previous antagonistic Eastern-European (visegrad) countries wil be coming closer to Turkey. These countries know the biggest threat is coming from Russia and see their own EU doing nothing but paying lip-service and seeing Turkey (and the UK) actively supporting Ukraine against Russia. It is clear to them where they can turn to for support.

This is great for Turkey because with previously just with Hungary in the EU being supportive towards Turkey, it managed to blunt a lot of the EU's political offensive against it. And now with Poland onboard, things will become advantageous for Turkey vis-a-vis the rest of the EU.

The Polish presidents' visit was not only about singing a deal for 24 TB-2, but also economy, construction and tourism. Tourism has often been used as an economic weapon by Russia to punish Turkey. Ukraine and now Poland are going to support Turkey in this matter.

Whereas China got denied acces by Ukraine through US pressure, the Turks have succeeded in creating JV's with Ukrainian engine manufactures, with the creation of Blacksea shield and Lodos propulsion with 50-50 share. Future Turkish UAV's, helicopters and ships are going to use Ukrainian engines.

PH set to acquire 6 Turkish attack helicopters: Lorenzana

MANILA – The Philippines has acquired Turkish Aerospace Industries T129B "ATAK" helicopters for its attack helicopter program, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said on Monday.
"We have already ordered six (T129B helicopters)," Lorenzana said in a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA).
The budget for the attack helicopter program is placed at around PHP13.8 billion.
"According to schedule, (deliveries will start in the) third quarter," Lorenzana said.
The T129 is a twin-engine, tandem seat, multi-role, all-weather attack helicopter based on the Agusta A129 Mangusta platform and is designed for advanced attack and reconnaissance missions in hot and high environments and rough geography in both day and night conditions.
The defense chief earlier said the Philippine Air Force (PAF) is more interested in acquiring the T129B for its attack helicopter program.
The PAF is looking to acquire dedicated but affordable attack helicopters to beef up its fleet of lightly-armed helicopters like the MG-520 and AW-109E which are being used for counter-terror and ground support missions. (PNA)
