What I want to emphasize here is Trump is unpredictable and fickle. What decision he makes today, he may change it tomorrow. I really don't know what words to use to describe him.
It doesn't matter if Trump is unpredictable. As long as China holds the big stick capable of inflicting pain to US, Trump will behave.

You already see this now happening. Before, Trump and his team were talking tough about disciplining and punishing China. Now, they say how China is a good friend of ours lol

I think that we all know this, but it doesn't matter in China's case. It does matter quite a lot for other countries, but those other countries are having a terrible time dealing with him anyways.

Will Trump impose additional tariffs on China this weekend due to trade between China and Russia? Trump's recent agreements with US allies seem to have met expectations, so I think it is not impossible that Trump will launch another trade war against China.
What does it matter? Have they solved their rare earth supply chain? If not you know what's coming.
