Regardless of how you feel about the Zelensky situation, I just love that this is the face of US "diplomacy" that we'll be seeing for another 4 years. Trying to out Pablo Pablo Escobar on his own school of diplomacy, LMAO.

Donald Trump will be the Mikhail Gorbachev of the United States.

Both came to power on a wave of popular discontent were a majority of the people are saying that "we cannot continue like this any longer and we need change" in the Soviet Union back then and in the United States now.
This is like the US version of perestroika lol, some radical changes coming.

Musk is going to do some major damage. The thing is DOGE is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, it was created to identify inefficiency, obviously it is going to brand every department as inefficient. when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail so the saying goes.

If Musk does survive in the Trump administration for a couple of years, he will have created a lot of dissent, while completely tarnishing the federal government. historically, late-stage empires try to identify its problems and attempt to rectify it with some radical reforms. Those efforts typically results in an acceleration of their decline.
This is exactly what i said three weeks ago, this is perestroika type of stuff going on. It wont end well. reforming the bureaucracy is very delicate work.

Dude, it's not SDF's fault that you are governed by morons and, frankly, you vote for morons.

If Canada instead of doing it's usual bs daily propaganda and playing stupid Huawei games, actually invested in legit counter-intelligence and world class international relations / diplomacy training for your leaders and diplomats, you wouldn't be in this mess

You are here since 2018. The World News thread for real has lot more higher caliber IR understanding of the world than the whole Western puppet world combined. That says a lot because that thread legit has a lot of garbage

You staked your future to the US, when any illiterate person would have told you that's a wrong idea. You trusted a country which for almost a century now has waged uninterrupted wars and done countless of coups.

Anyway, don't blame others and learn from history. Trump is not at fault for bullying you. It's your country's fault for being so weak, and subsequently people's fault for being weak

You see anybody here blaming or whining about Obama, Biden, Trump etc. If US wants to keep China down, it's fully understandable. As understandable as grab-them-by-youknow Trump seeing a beautiful and unprotected lady on the north and wanting to seize her.

Get out of here with this holier than thou bullshit nonsense. This website is filled with speculation on events and isn't some great brain trust regarding international relations.

Yeah, we elect morons yet somehow managed build one of the wealthiest and most prosperous countries on the planet and we've managed to build and maintain that wealth for generations?

Oh, and American and Canadian relationships were built over shared core values and mutual defense along with being sustained for in a peaceful manner for decades. On top of that, the relationship has survived through many geopolitical changes and has proven itself to be durable.

Acting like it was forgone conclusion that it would end up in this manner is totally false or that the actions of Trump were somehow predicted by past American administrators despite the fact that everything he does is almost entirely unprecedented.

You mean Genocide and Imperialism?

Not for long, we are witnessing changes unseen in centuries.

When the empire falls, the resources from the periphery will get rerouted to maintain the imperial core (USA).

What is so hard to understand in this mechanic? By saying you (and no one) didn't anticipate Trump, you are saying that you didn't anticipate, or really just successfully OBSERVED the imperial decline, which is crazy, arrogant, dumb, etc.

What's so hard to understand that populism, return to conservativism, authoritarianism, realpolitik, and disorder, often follow the declines?

When times are good all the liberal bullshit is ok, but when the middle class gets destroyed, you have Trump.

Disagree entirely. If you think this is how you are supposed to hold a meeting between world leaders you're an idiot. Trump acts like high school bully when attempting to conduct diplomacy. Same way he acts when he has been talking to Canada lately.

I mean really, what exactly is Zelensky supposed to say in this situation? Ideally when another man speaks to you like that you reach over a smack them in the face, but this is a huge diplomatic meeting which to me seems to be set-up like an ambush to make Trump look tough.

Nations that have real power don't act like that in public or even behind closed doors because it goes without saying what their capabilities are.
In retrospect, while everyone laughed at Vucic's chair back then - we now can see what the opposite leads to.

Oh boy. Are you an actual believer in the 'Rules Based International Order'?

Canada has been prosperous because it wasn't touched and marred by the destruction of WWI and WWII, unlike the majority of Europe and Asia; it has quite successfully eradicated most Native Canadians, so that the abundant natural resources therein can be better exploited by a people with no connection to the land; and it sits next to the US Empire at the zenith of its power.

One thing that SDF does well, and it might be the only forum that does it well - it doesn't have any 'white people exceptionalism'. Get rid of that bias, and you might see things for what they actually are. Canada, by its geography and demographics, will always be a vassal to the US and beholden to the US's whim.

Senator Lindsey Graham spoke outside the Oval Office a few moments ago - and it's clear his views on Zelensky have shifted.
Graham, a formerly staunch defender of Ukraine, just told reporters that Zelensky needs to resign or someone else needs to take over negotiations.
The senator added that he did not believe Zelensky should have brought up ceasefires or security concerns ahead of the deal.
He's also called on Zelensky to "apologise" to Americans during his Fox News interview, which is expected later tonight.

Lol. LMAO, even.

Great changes unseen in a century

百 年 未 有 之 大 变 局

I think this is the full version of the fight

LOL

The ungrateful rat faced Zelensky asks JD Vance a pretty dumb question in the middle of a press conference! He probably thought all the MSM would call him 'stunning and brave' for hijacking that press conference, but Trump put him on full blast for the world to see.

Never seen anything like this in my lifetime.

I don't think Trump could understand much of what Zelensky was saying. If could understand he's probably be more pissed.
