China has it's own type of courtesy culture like India. The courtesy culture is where Indians will lie to you if they think you'd rather hear the lie that sounds better than the truth. Beijing seems to think the best path in dealing with the US is to let them and also verbally support them in their lies they believe about China to at minimum not to anger them by simply going against what they say even when it's the truth. That sounds like the philosophy of the say nothing do nothing when wronged Chinese.

For instance look at the 2008 Western Financial Crisis. The West took a hit but China hardly felt a thing. The West in their denial kept on for years believing it was going to catch up to China. Then you started hearing how the West is going to punish China for it after years of nothing happening. After Europe left the quagmire of Iraq, they were talking about going after China economically for not making the same mistake they did. Then all of the sudden China's economy was suffering. The rage in the West was China's collapse was imminent because that’s what they wanted to hear. Now all the sudden official Chinese figures that the West accuses of being manipulated are telling the truth? Why all of the sudden now they're true? You don't think the Chinese would manipulate performing negatively just to get the West's attention off China? Then you have Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei when the US was sanctioning his company. He was crying publicly how much his company was suffering under Western sanctions. Now Huawei is making more money than ever without the West as customers. China EVs are dominating the world auto market without Americans as customers. They're so dominant that US auto companies are on the brink of collapse despite having a captured market all for themselves. And yet China's economy is doing horribly when the US uses auto sales as a gauge for how well their economy is doing overall. China broke a record for international exports in 2024 yet somehow the West thinks because they've been decoupling with China ergo their economy must be doing horribly. That’s their evidence. The US also uses factory activity as a gauge on their economy is doing yet the West is whining about China’s over-capacity. They said China’s technology sector was in terrible shape and China was incapable of competing with the US and the West on AI. Then DeepSeek by itself forces a trillion dollar market correction in the West and changed and upset their entire technological landscape.

The Chinese think let Westerners think they're strong and in control at China’s expense and then they won't abuse their power. Let Americans know when they're hurting the Chinese and then they will let up on the pressure hence why Beijing thinks pouting like a child that the West is hurting the Chinese peoples’ feelings works. That naïveté suggest that Westerners have morals and ethics. Trump has shown to even the US's closest allies that give him power to abuse and he wants even more. Tell an American something they're doing hurts you and the only thing they see is an admission that whatever they're doing works and they'll do it more to get what they want and not stop.

Take a look at the state of chaos the West is in. Trump is going against all the West's high and mighty standards and principles. Why? Because he knows he can do it. Nothing holds him back because Americans thinks that means they have power. It’s not like countries are not going to comply. Ultimately Westerners know if they had the power, they will abuse it. Western rule of law is only for fools naive enough to believe the West cares about those things. It's for everyone else to abide by not them. And Western liberals still think they can lecture and demand everyone else obey them despite how they don’t police and keep those standards for themselves. Look at how you see Democrats criticizing Zelensky’s behavior at the White House. Biden was in fact no different from Trump when it came to tactics in foreign affairs even demanding allies work against their own interests.

Trump has exposed it’s a whole lot easier to force its allies to do things than China… and he’ll destroy the West in the process. That’s why China shouldn’t help Western countries in being an alternative to the US unless it’s absolutely benefits China’s interests first. No more handing them a bone just to promote good relations. Do you think they deserve any help when they were helping the US in trying to control China only now looking to China because the power they let Trump get a taste of is now turning on them and they have no choice? Remember, they could’ve stopped Trump from the beginning during his first term by not going along but because they did, they weakened themselves to be vulnerable today. Yeah their only saving grace today is embracing China as an alternative to the US.

So who is winning then?

Yeah, China feints about what hurts China, then when US tries to double down on it, they open themselves up to being hooked in the face.

What China is doing isn't particularly complicated. If you look at the chief strategist of China, you can see he is a cautious, calm person, and you can see that in his writing as well.

My guess is that he follows a simple basic rule/assumption. China will always beat US 1v1. This is quite factual truth, probably not even an American nationalist will dispute you on this point.

So therefore, China's grand strategy boils down to maximally stripping US off their protections. Either kill them (like Ukraine), economically ruin them (like UK and EU), or just make them infight (like Zionists, eurocrats and liberals).

It's not about appeasing individual NATO countries, it's about casting doubts within them and playing them off against eachother.

Whenever NATO starts to infight, the non politically correct statement US uses to rally them has always been "we are all white Europeans, if we stick together, we can plunder the rest of the world and we'll all be rich, so stop arguing already". Except this statement doesn't work anymore since China has worked relentlessly to siege the US alliance network until there's no more money they can easily get from anywhere anymore.

The "chaos" that you're seeing now is that the pie for NATO is running out, and because of the strategic engineering China has made, they can't plunder another pie, and hence start loudly blaming eachother for who took bigger slices.
