^^^ The spot on which the F-35 lands has a black smudge. Is that the normal wear and expected from aircraft operations off ships or caused by some sort of high temperature? Is there any further information on whether the F-35 has made any vertical take offs from any ships?

Yep.. that's exhaust combines with tire marks. No big deal.

Is there any further information on whether the F-35 has made any vertical take offs from any ships?

So far the aircraft has only been aboard the Wasp. When new photos are posted..I shall post them!
