PACIFIC OCEAN (July 11, 2011) The littoral combat ship USS Coronado (LCS 4) and the Military Sealift Command joint high speed vessel USNS Millinocket (JHSV 3) transit in formation off the coast of Southern California as part of a photo exercise for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 26 to Aug. 1, in and around the Hawaiian islands and southern California. I am just curious; why would they transfer those ordnance by hooking them up? Why not a helo landing on the flight desk of this carrier, loading to its max payload then fly to another carrier, land on it and unload those ordnance?
