ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 6, 2012) An MV-22 Osprey lands on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to receive and transport troops during the amphibious assault phase of Bold Alligator 2012. Bold Alligator 2012, the largest naval amphibious exercise in the past 10 years, represents the Navy and Marine Corps' revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations. The exercise focuses on today's fight with today's forces, while showcasing the advantages of seabasing. Popeye, kwaig, and all...this is what I really wish the US Navy would develop to replace the S-3A ASW capabilities that the Carrier groups used to have. An SV-22 would carry more sensors, more weapons, would have greater range, and could loiter and prosecute targets for a longer time than the Seahawk helicopters.

It would allow the CSG once again to cast a much wide net in the hopes of keeping adversary submarines further away from the carrier.

Anyhow, I built this specifically to be able to show what it would be capable of.

I'd love to see each US nuclear carrier deploy with a squadron of six of these aircraft.
