As for the Iranian Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar missiles, which are capable of hitting targets at 300 and 700 kilometres respectively.

I believe this Iranian device, whose accuracy has yet to be proven (civilian GPS...?), does not solve the basic problem of Russia's weak ISR and command and control capabilities. Then the Russians will chisel at civilian targets again, in an attempt to weaken Ukrainian resistance. Hitting more civilian buildings with Iranian ballistic missiles, I believe, could raise the bar in a game where so far the Russians have only lost militarily. Indeed, in this case the quid pro quo could be ATACMS, which, unlike the Iranian cannonballs, are launched specifically at troop concentrations, depots, airbases, command and control centres... and Russian bridges, further damaging Russia's already disastrous ability to conduct a military campaign.

Are these new Iranian drones being used solely for civilian targeting or is it a mix of both civ and military targets?

For stationary, known targets, seems pretty reliable based on videos from its use.

I'm somewhat entertained by this obviously bad faith argument tactic in which if the Ukranians hit a civilian area(as they do in Donetsk and Belgorod), they are totally hitting dual-use targets of military value while if the Russians do the same, these same targets suddenly become only civilian in nature.

I believe, could raise the bar in a game where so far the Russians have only lost militarily.
The punitive shelling of civilian areas along the Belgorod and Kursk border and Donetsk, again, says otherwise.

Well depends on how you classify transformer stations, but more specifically there's this example:
We can't really be sure but the layout does suggest a military compound. So it does seem the drones are used tactically too.
It's quite funny how a cheap drone with a mopet engine become a wonderweapon in the eyes of a lot of peoples when way bigger and precise weapons have blowed up tons of stuff in Ukraine. It look like it's the end of the world. It's on all the news, Iranian drones destroying everything, Ukraine gearing up to the task of shooting them down, new AA system shipped to counter the Iranian drones, etc etc etc.

Russian would have been able to attack all these targets with cruise missiles a long time ago, but low cost targets need low cost weapons. Strike near civilians assets need also less collateral damage. Imagine using Iskander for the same task...would have been quite devastating. Quite chirurgical use of forces.

They are still nice addons to any forces and it's interesting to see how effective they are passing through air defences ar low speed making a ton of noise. But they are not wonderweapons, the same for HIMARS...

A thread about Iranian missiles:

Some units in Belarus already have red ribbon for identification.

The Liar Chuck above claims the Russians lost 2,505 MBTs and 5,181 AFVs...wanted to know his count of Russian aircraft, should be another reliable estimate and also reasonable.

A thread about Russian and Ukrainian forces
