The War in the Ukraine

IMO Russia will switch to 155 mm for their medium howitzer. It's easier ammunition wise because they can get ammo supply from allies like China and Iran which use 155 mm. 152.4 mm is very ancient and dates to pre WW1 British 6 inch howitzer which Russia bought from Britain before WW1 but now only Russia still uses that caliber which is difficult logistics wise because they cannot get ammo supply from allies because they all use 155 mm.

Just looking at the Snake Island scenario, I don't see Russia providing any higher quality information to back up their claims either.
Capturing Snake Island doesn't make much sense for Ukraine, and without a real navy, neither landing on Snake Island nor capturing it would make much sense for Ukraine. I don't think Ukraine really has any plans to capture Snake Island, if anything, for propaganda purposes, and a similar effect could be achieved by constantly bombing the island (and indeed has been achieved)
Capturing the island would have been a massive symbolic victory, especially since it was designed to be timed right before the Russian military parade. Obviously the western media would report extensively on this propaganda victory. Planting the flag on the island would achieve a far greater effect than bombing it.
However, Russia is forced to pay a continuous price for defending Snake Island, and the capture of Snake Island has far more symbolic than tactical value for Russia.
Which is why they've cut their losses and left.
To be fair to the Russian film industry, compared to the rest of the Russian industry, the Russian film industry, especially the level of CG, is definitely not below its Chinese counterparts. Over the years Russia has provided us with many war films with stunning images, and I feel sorry for you if you really missed them.

Snake island to Ukraine is like Falklands islands to Argentina. It's just not possible to capture it with Russian navy and air force around.

If the Russians are using stock BMP-1s then they deserve to lose. Those tanks seem to have Soviet style paint scheme. AFAIK the only units using stock BMP-1 are either Ukraine or the Donbass militia. And I never heard about the militia having proper combat engineering units. So I would say with reasonable amount of certainty those are in fact Ukrainian units.
Is that why no Russian source has reported on it? Ukraine is not trying to cross the Siverskyi Donets river, Russia is. At most they're sending SOF or UAF servicemen to harass Russia on foot, not establish a pontoon bridge and send a whole armored company across. This is also consistent with what they've been doing in other parts of the frontline. Also consider these BMP's could be recently taken and refitted from storage.
