I don't know why you think Russia cannot make drones. Sure they are behind China and they cannot mass manufacture cheap drones because they lack the electronics industry for it, but they have MALE drones like the Orion.

They still have issues with supply and fabrication but just this year Kronstadt built a new drone factory north of Moscow.

Theres a big difference between making a few units of a drone and making hundreds or thousands of them. The Iranian deal proves that Russia can't make their Orion drone cost effectively. Remind us of how much the Orlan costs the defence budget?

The Ukrainian Air Force showed footage of the landing of Ukrainian fighters on the highway.

The crew of the Russian airborne combat vehicle BMD-4M showed their combat work and told the tactics of the Ukrainian army units. The armament of the BMD-4M is a 100 mm 2A70 cannon, a 30 mm 2A72 automatic cannon and a 7.62 caliber PKMT machine gun.

Footage of an attempted offensive by Ukrainian troops in Pisky, this is the Donetsk region. In the video, the battle and attack of Ukraine by the forces of a motorized infantry platoon of three BMP-2s supported by two T-72B tanks. After the destruction of one of the Ukrainian T-72Bs by Russian artillery and grenade launchers, Ukrainian units began to retreat.

This could be the Iranian drones Russia bought from the drone deal with Iran, but we'll still have to see if this evidence is true in the next few days when any video evidence of its use surfaces or Ukrainian sources confirming its usage by Russian troops.

Official Telegram of ASB Military News:

First possible evidence of Iranian drones used by Russia — the remains of a suicide drone strikingly similar to Iran’s Shahed 136 were recovered in Kupyansk after it struck Ukrainian forces.

The Shahed-136 was also used to attack Saudi Arabian targets multiple times — it is estimated to have an effective range of around 2,000 to 2,200 kilometers (1,370 miles)

Its warhead is quite large and causes a lot of damage for a kamikaze drone.

It appears to be specifically produced for Russia due to the Russian name printed on it OR produced by Russia under a license.

That would be a good tactic but Russian military prefers donating tanks to Ukrainian army.
I wouldn't read too much into that, Taliban has larger "air force" now than most countries thanks to kind donation of you know who, for their, what should we term it? tactical "withdrawal"?

In the mean time, something interesting from Ukraine

“A counteroffensive liberates territory and after that you have to control it and be ready to defend it,”

“Of course, we have to be worried, this war has worried us for years.”
from Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov.

It seems the amount of cheerleader for Ukraine has also outnumbered the number of fighter of ground to 8:1 . They are more optimist than Ukr themselves.:rolleyes:

Something doesn't add up. Specially if i try to connect a straight line in between Drones purchase by Russia & this warning of Ukr Def minister of being over stretched.

If that were true, why is Zelensky constantly begging for weapons and praying for tanks!?

There is captured equipment on both sides, but you conveniently choose to exaggerate to fit your thesis.
Why shouldn’t he want superior NATO material? They put what they have in good use.

More support from Chechen leader Kadyrov:

According to pro-Russian Telegram channel "Орда", the Russian volunteer battalions formed across the country in August and their training will soon be completed.

It should also be recalled that during the first six months of the special military operation, quite a large territory was occupied by a limited military contingent - and the Russian army continued offensive actions in a number of areas. The more territory liberated, the more difficult it is to defend, especially in the event of massive simultaneous counter-offensives in several sectors.

Again, we read of the general mobilization that is now required. From what we know, volunteer units are now being formed in many regions of our Federation.

Currently our Federation has chosen this recruitment format and is implementing it. Alternatively, it would be possible to put all residents within a certain age range under arms - as the Ukrainians do - but, we remind you, the Ukrainians do not have to worry about their economy because they no longer have a state economy.

Some of the volunteer battalions formed in August and who will soon complete their training:

- St. Petersburg formed "Kronstadt", "Neva" and "Pavlovsk" volunteer detachments "for military service under the contract" staffed "exclusively by residents of St. Petersburg"

- Yakutia has a volunteer detachment called "Bootur" that includes drivers, mechanics, air defense gunners and machine gunners

- Primorsky Region has a "Tiger" detachment that trains at the 155th Pacific Fleet Marine Brigade base

- Tatarstan formed Alga and Timer battalions - "the idea is that (such) battalions should be formed only from the natives of Tatarstan, so that they stand shoulder to shoulder, know each other, walk together and carry out the assigned tasks”

- The Chuvash communications battalion "Atal" is also made up only form local residents

- Perm has a motorized rifle company "Parma" and a tank battalion "Molot". Another tank battalion named after Kuzma Minin is being created in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

- The Amur region is gathering the Amursky motorized rifle battalion, which is expected to consist of 400-500 people. An announcement appeared on the website of the government of the Leningrad Region about recruiting for the Nevsky and Ladoga artillery battalions.

- Tyumen region announced the formation of three units: the Tobol sapper battalion, the Taiga sniper company, and the Siberia artillery battalion. The first volunteers from these units went to Ukraine at the end of July 2022.

- Bashkiria prepared two motorized rifle battalions for Ukraine that exceed 800 people. The "Seim" logistics battalion from the Kursk region will transport fuel, food, and ammunition.

- The Omsk region announced the formation of a repair company, a logistics company and a medical unit. Auto mechanics, logisticians, freight forwarders, supply managers and paramedical personnel are most in demand there.

- Other volunteer units include "Angara" (Irkutsk region), Chelyabinsk battalions "South Ural" and "Southern Ural", and Tomsk "Toyan"

- The Ulyanovsk battalions "Sviyaga" and "Simbirsk"

- In the Krasnodar region, volunteer detachments are formed from the Kuban Cossack army. In total, about 1200 Cossacks participate in Ukraine, and a special training center for Cossack volunteers operates in the region.
