Oskil River:

Defense Politics Asia is pretty accurate when it comes to covering this war.
Such incompetence from the Russians, 3 bridges.

I say just go full Joker and blow the dam, drain the basin and ford/pontoon across with the tanks. Everything immediately downstream is mostly on the Ukrainian side anyway, Ukrainians don't seem to care about bridges and other infrastructure so you might as well.

You can blast everything if you dont stay there after the war... easy to explode everything in Iraq or Syria for the US but Russia want to keep most stuff intact for an easier taking after the dust settle.

Still, putting all your marble on existing bridges when Ukraine know exact coordonate is clearly stupid. A couple of round or saboteur and your in deep problems. It was the time to build other route of reinforcements with pontoon when they had times and they had ample time for it. Maybe it's the punch in the face Russia needed ? Reinforcement with airplanes is difficult and risky, Izium don't have an airport. You cannot bring a lot of heavy stuff by helicopter even with Mi-26, you will not bring MBT.

Anyone have any info on Izium? Last I heard, WarGonzo was saying there was fighting on the outskirts. Also rumors of a Melitopol offensive, on top of ongoing fighting in Lyman.

I heard something about bombardments into Melitopol probably with long range MLRS but no offensive.

Any particular reason why Russia doesn't declare war?
Based on what I have read, a declaration of war would require a massive mobilization and the deployment of conscripts. Such acts would require Russia's economy to orient to a war economy which isn't good for Russia, and the populace would be drastically affected, which is something they won't like for sure. Plus, it would be seen as Putin admitting Ukraine is a peer adversary although perceive Ukraine as a weak, corrupt state that requires "liberation".

While people mock and laugh at RuAF, they still have achieved the most impressive air to air kills of the last two decades. Let’s not go overboard here.
I don't see how doing the barely accepted minimum for an airforce absolves them from blame.

The catalogue of problems in the RuAF has been very well documented and analysed. That they have scored some air to air kills, doesn't change this fact. From R&D, to procurement, to training, to operations, the RuAF has serious deficiencies in all of the above areas.

Would you accept the current RuAF clownshow if this was the USAF or PLAAF?
