What is really striking about this third (Napoleon, the Adolf and NATO 2008-2014-) aggression against Russia is that Germany is going to be defeated by London and its heirs.

Otto von Bismarck and Kaiser Wilhelm II will be turning in their graves, for this is the third time that London has made Germany dance to its music.

You only need spares if you can expect to use something for prolonged periods. Most of those artillery pieces are towed, and will likely get obliterated after their first few barrages by air strikes or counter battery fire.
Only M777s and a few D-30s are towed, the others are self-propelled guns.

Russia’s “End State”. What is it? When might it be achieved?

Is Russia achieving its goals? Will a lengthy conflict benefit or hurt Russia? How might the U.S. and NATO influence this?

Essentially Russia is on track to achieve assessed initial goals.

103 towed vs 60 s-p, I think my use of most was correct ;).

- an unknown number of AS-90 self-propelled artillery mounts,
12 CAESAR units
- up to 24 German self-propelled guns PzH 2000,
- up to 24 self-propelled guns M109A4BE,
- 20 self-propelled guns 2S1 "Gvozdika" and several MLRS BM-21 "Grad",

Kiev has so far lost 30 drones, 10 helicopters, four jets, three ships, and upwards of 50 troops in failed attempts to take Snake Island, the Russian Ministry of Defense has revealed. Urged on by British advisers, President Volodymyr Zelensky personally ordered the attack and wanted to see a victory by May 9, media reported citing security sources.

Another Bayraktar TB-2 strike drone, a Turkish import, was shot down over the island on Tuesday, said Major General Igor Konashenkov, the spokesman for the Russian military. That makes nine Bayraktars destroyed over Snake Island since Saturday, he pointed out.
Russian troops noticed on Tuesday three more bodies of Ukrainian attackers that washed up on the beach, Konashenkov added, for a total of 27 special forces and nationalist battalion personnel that perished on the island itself.

During Monday’s briefing about the fighting on the island, Konashenkov said that Ukrainian forces had lost three Su-24 bombers, one Su-27 fighter, four helicopters and three Centaur-class assault ships. On Tuesday, he clarified that three Mi-8 troop carriers and one Mi-24 attack helicopter were shot down on Saturday, while six more were later destroyed on the ground near Odessa, for a total of ten.

“This adventure has turned out to be a disaster for Ukraine,” Konashenkov said, adding that the “thoughtless PR action of the Kiev regime to take Snake Island by Victory Day” resulted in the “meaningless deaths” of more than 50 elite Ukrainian troops, as well as pilots and crew of the destroyed aircraft and vessels.

Konashenkov called the attempt to take the island a public-relations stunt, “mindless from the military standpoint.”
Zelensky personally ordered the attack, overruling the Ukrainian General Staff, a Russian military source told Sputnik. Another source told TASS that Zelensky’s order came at the urging of British advisers in Kiev. The purpose of the stunt was to claim a victory by May 9, and symbolically rain on Moscow’s parade celebrating the Soviet Union’s World War II defeat of Nazi Germany.

The strategically located island was taken by the Russian Navy in the first week of military operations. The Ukrainian government and media initially claimed that 13 brave defenders died after heroic resistance, only for the 82 border guards who had surrendered without a fight to

within days.

Russia attacked the neighboring state in late February, following Ukraine’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreements, first signed in 2014, and Moscow’s eventual recognition of the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. The German- and French-brokered protocols were designed to give the breakaway regions special status within the Ukrainian state.

The Kremlin has since demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the two republics by force.

Supposedly, Ukrainian telegram channels are reporting that Baykar, the TB-2's manufacturer, is displeased with Ukraine's waste of TB-2's the last two weeks not only on the Snake Island raid but also trying cross-border raids into Russia.

Mind you, this comes from pro-russian telegram channels, so take it with the corresponding bag of salt.

Speaking of supplies, here are some of the artillery the Ukraine has/will receive:

- 90 M777 howitzers and an unknown number of M142 HIMARS,
- 4 howitzers M777 with adjustable ammunition,
- an unknown number of AS-90 self-propelled artillery mounts,
– 12 CAESAR units
- up to 24 German self-propelled guns PzH 2000,
- up to 24 self-propelled guns M109A4BE,
- 20 self-propelled guns 2S1 "Gvozdika" and several MLRS BM-21 "Grad",
– 20+ self-propelled guns DANA and DANA M2, as well as several MLRS RM-70 ("Grad" on the Czech base),
– 18 Zuzana wheeled self-propelled guns,
- 9 Soviet howitzers D-30.

Even ignoring the 152/155mm issue, how is Ukraine supposed to support so many different platforms? Do NATO units not need spares? It sounds like a logistical nightmare.
What will happen to these exotic weapons:

1 ) For howitzers., they will empty associated ammunition that come with the delivery and abandon them on the field more or less. Russian don't have ammo either.

2) Because of lacks of spare parts to repair in Ukraine, any breakdown from whatever reason means abandoning the weapon system on site.

3) If a self propelled weapon system is out of ammunition, it will be ridden to nearest base or city, they will empty it of fuel for other vehicules that can be supplied with fresh rounds and they will abandon it.

They are one week weapons on the front lines or they will be used only on the last defence line making available serviceable Ukrainian systems to the frontlines.
