The War in the Ukraine

Withdrawing from Balakliya is a mistake IMO. It's a moderately sized town and will be impossible to evacuate. No doubt the Ukrainians will be rounding up people they consider to be pro-Russian and executing them like in Bucha.

So what needs to happen for Putin to take the gloves off and declare a general mobilization? A total collapse of the Kharkov front?
Every few months people on here start talking about general mobilisation. It's not going to happen.

Choosing not to flee a region at war is really just playing with fire regardless. Whether a resident is pro-Ukraine or pro-Russia, they should flee and wait until the war is over before going back.

You are living in alternative reality. Russia is intentionally slow.

Tiene mucha razón, es muy lento, en el combate avanzan milimétricamente y lento... Pero sus retrocesos y pérdida de territorios son rápidos

What they advance in a whole month, they lose going back in a week...

Whole southern and eastern world losing what ever respect they have left to US+EU.

His analysis is very interesting, however, Russia has not gained much "respect" either, only 5 countries have given their explicit support to its invasion, countries with so much geopolitical "weight" and "unblemished" reputation such as Eritrea, Syria or Belarus... While others like China, Cuba or Vietnam prefer to abstain

Even Saudis are openly supporting Russia.

Yes, the Saudi Arabia that depends to a large extent on western weapons, that is only playing the economic game in its favor... Surely they are the ace up Russia's sleeve.... Xd!

Biden is now seeking an ADDITIONAL $13.7 BILLION in “emergency dollars” for Ukraine, as their aid is “running out!”

The White House on Friday asked Congress to approve $13.7 billion to address Russia’s continued military invasion of Ukraine as part of a short-term funding bill.

The Biden administration is requesting that Congress authorize $11.7 billion in additional security and economic assistance for Ukraine and $2 billion to help shore up domestic energy supplies to offset impacts of the war on the global energy market.

“We have rallied the world to support the people of Ukraine to defend their democracy and we simply cannot allow that support to Ukraine to run dry,” an administration official told reporters when previewing the request on Friday.

The White House says that the funds are needed to sustain the pace of aid to Ukraine for the first three months of fiscal 2023, which begins at the start of October. The administration official said roughly three-fourths of the funds Congress has already approved for Ukraine have been spent or obligated.

Congress on a bipartisan basis has approved over $53 billion in security, economic and humanitarian assistance to address Russia’s invasion of Ukraine this year. Biden signed the last package, totaling $40 billion, into law in May. At the time, the White House said it expected those funds to last through the end of the fiscal year.

So around $54 billion already committed to Ukraine says the article. Tho idk how accurate it is since they keep sending a few billion every couple weeks.

I still remember how hard they fought tooth and nail over the $1 billion price tag of a new shiny concrete wall.
