Seems like the geography really favors the Russians in this area, since the Ukrainian crossing is in a bulge with a river that naturally encircles on 3 sides.Yes RYBAR have now updated about it:

That arrow to the west of the bridgehead. The Russians actually managed to force a successful crossing of the Ingulets and gained a bridgehead on the Ukrainian side.
I think the only way the Ukrainians had a remote chance of succeeding in the offensive is if they broke through more than a token few kilometers on a broad front, at multiple points along this river. That way they can reduce the density of artillery fire, but even if they managed to route the Russian defenders it would still have been tough to drive all the way to the Dnieper getting hit from the air.
Really surprised they decided to deploy the HIMARS so close to the front, only about 20km from the river.
