The War in the Ukraine

Welcoming if they are offered is not the same as asking for it.

The only ones pushing this narrative of Russia asking/getting weapons from China are the same people and think tankies that have been itching for an excuse to fight with China and sanction it out since Obama's Pivot to Asia.

There are only two possible reasons why the Russians would refrain from asking for much needed assistance:

1. it is understood that the desired assistance will not be forthcoming and there is no point to the Russians embarrassing themselves by asking and be publicly refused.

2. It is understood there will be a political or material price for the needed assistance, either to be paid immediately or to be banked and drawn upon in the future, and the Russians deemed the price too high for the value of the assistance.

So exactly why do you think Russia should expect assistance from China without any reciprocation?

The whole Russia ask China for help is made up BS so US can smear China by negative association with Russia imperialism to justify expanding NATO with an Indo-Pacific twist and to get more EU support against China. Meanwhile, US shoves heaploads of weapons to Ukraine and Taiwan, it's total projection from the US.

Taking snake island has little to no strategical value. It is just an attempt from Ukraine to win the psychological warfare.
There's speculation that they want to take it before Victory Day at May 9 to deal a psychological blow to Russia.

Well, they've sure invested a lot of assets into it not to mention the opportunity costs where those assets could've been utilized elsewhere.

The island is unholdable for both sides now, Russian could hold it but the lost of Moskva clearly impaired their area AD in the area. Ukraine cannot hold it period, how easy it is for Russia to get ISR on such small area, if Ukraine can hit a BUK on it Russia can do it ten times easier. A poster mentioned maybe Ukraine can host Ashm on the island, yeah it's gonna be a hard NO...

It makes no sense...

It's one of those situations in war where both sides are trying to deny the other the ability to hold a specific position, but the position isn't of much value in itself otherwise.
