More footage has been published of the attack of the Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" on the Ukrainian tank "Leopard-2A6", made in Germany. The Leopard 2A6 tank began to be produced in Germany in 1997. Ukraine received 18 Leopard 2A6 tanks from Germany and 3 tanks from Portugal. According to some estimates, 11 Leopard-2A6 tanks have been destroyed so far. In Ukraine, the Leopard-2A6 tank was modified by installing Soviet dynamic protection "Kontakt-1". The video was filmed in the Kursk region of Russia near the village of Darino. The Leopard 2A6 tank was attacked by several Vandal drones, the crew abandoned the damaged tank

Saw someone argue on twitterland that it's a Leopard-1. Ridiculous but yeah those exist

The Ukrainian medium intelligence ship Simferopol, built on the hull of the Project 502EM trawler, was damaged as a result of a Russian missile attack on the port of Odessa. The intelligence ship Simferopol, part of the 30th division of surface ships, was undergoing trials; the ship was launched in 2019. The ship's armament includes a 30-mm AK-306 artillery mount, a Melkhior electronic intelligence station, and imported wide-range direction-finding antennas. The Russian missile missed the ship and exploded nearby. Apparently, the ship managed to move away from the pier before the missile hit; as a result of the missile strike, a fire started on the Simferopol ship.

Ukraine will receive Leopard tanks, because the Germans will succumb to the pressure.

But the tanks won't make a difference and we will all see their losses in combat. And then Ukraine will ask for the Abrams.

So the Abrams will eventually be featured in Ukraine. It's only a matter of time.

The only tank we might not see is the Leclerc, but who knows.

This conflict will last 2-4 years until a landlocked Ukraine settles for peace, forced on by war weary Western allies. Poland will send in forces as the fighting approaches the East.
Haha, I wrote this back in Jan 2023 and I am 2 for 4 so far in my prediction.

The landlocked and Poland invasion hasn't occurred yet but we have 2 more years of fighting left.

Since I'm going back in time, I also wrote this back in April 2022.

This will be a long drawn out war. Those expecting quick victories conquer on the battlefield are seriously deluding themselves.

If I was a betting man, I would bet on the Russians who now have organized themselves and have better logistics and controls the skies above Ukraine. NATO armerments won't make a difference in the overall picture just like the Soviets armament didn't in Vietnam. US didn't lose that war. They grew tired of it and left.
The only thing the Russians are missing is the will. I don't know why they haven't fully declared war on Ukraine yet but maybe if these attacks on Russian soil continues, Putin will have the necessary outrage from his citizens to formally declare war.
Remember this is still a special operation.

Well the part about "Russians controlling Ukraine skies" is not entirely accurate but they do have some air superiority over the country and some air supremacy on the front-lines. [Supremacy is the highest level of control; Superiority is the next level of control]

Sorry but that's a really moronic take.

When you say US grew tired of it, what do you mean by "it"? They lost ~5000 planes and another 5000 helos. Not to mention more soldiers than Russia in the SMO (tbf Russia still has time to catch up to them since war isn't over).

So yeah, they got tired of throwing troops without any gains to show for their effort. And they left because it couldn't be sustained. Which marks the loss of the conflict. It's an unambiguous loss because US invested a lot into Vietnam and walked out with less territory than they started with.

NATO armament do make a huge difference, it's what lets Ukraine keep fighting after losing their industry, economy and ability to refurbish/maintain arms. A similar effect was achieved by the communist support to Vietnam.

US lost almost 60K troops in a war that was 8 years. Russia has eclipse that in over 2 years. So I don't know where you're coming from.

NATO armaments make a difference but the OVERALL PICTURE--as I wrote--it won't because Ukraine will still lose. NATO's aid is the only reason Ukraine hasn't collapse. But in the overall, Russia will out produce NATO's military aid and still slog it out.

Don't want to litigate the Vietnam war but Soviets were providing military aid to the North Vietnam (including pilots) but still Americans controlled the battlefield. US didn't lose, they withdrew because they didn't have political will for it. They failed to come to South Vietnam's aid when the North launched their last offensive; almost like what just happened in Syria. Nixon was caught up in a scandal and was not president at that time of that offensive. The war was simply unpopular.

US military wasn't defeated but US politically was. They left 2 years before the South fell. They could have stayed and turn South Vietnam into the next South Korea.

they could not sustain their air attrition rate. it wasn't their foot soldiers that kept South Vietnam alive, it was their airpower.

That is nowhere near sustainable, averaging 1200 airframe losses per year. In comparison,

RuAF is currently doing ~50x better in terms of force conservation.

Tactically it wasn't much better,

US claim of US losses: 134 aircraft lost in combat or operational accidents
US claim of Vietnamese losses: 63 aircraft shot down

Based on same source (which is likely Ukrainian biased), RuAF also suffered 0 air to air losses, everything was either SAM, ground attack or accident.

You don't get sick of something from winning, right? If they kept losing 1.2k airframes per year, they'd run out of planes at some point, and it wouldn't just be South Vietnam at risk.
