The War in the Ukraine

Well if it's really ICBM's it could basically means end of arms control, as other parties may follow the suit in developing conventional ICBM's.
Not useful against nuclear states when one is a covert or overt nuclear state themselves. No nuclear state is going to wait and see whether an ICBM from a nuclear state is conventional or not.

I see 5 arrivals of 6 warheads each, it could be that five missiles were fired carrying 6 conventional warheads.
Likely a Yars, if they indeed fired multiple of it to the same target. Not sure if there are silos for the larger ones in Astrakhan.

Video of the impacts

Grouping is impresive considering the precision of Soviet/Russian ICBM's was always cuestioned.

would an icbm tip with conventional warheads instead of nuclear ones? why not used short range ballistic missiles....Let's wait for confirmation from russia...

Exactly my thought, they took the nuclear warhead off the MIRVs and substituted in 5-6 conventional replacements per MIRV bus and targeted all the MIRVs on the same target.

Looks like the submunitions are all kinetic only with the tiny detonations. Probably tungsten rods or similar, since no one will have dedicated conventional warheads rated for ICBM re-entry speeds, meaning trying to add explosive payloads was very likely to result in self detonate on re-entry.

NATO must have been shitting a brick while watching the ICBM fly to its target after all their nuclear launch alerts went off. Putin was probably in his doomsday bunker just in case.

Short of actually using a nuke, it’s hard to see what else the Russians can do to demonstrate just how serious their warnings are.

Ever heard of Prompt Global Strike? We are way past that point.

This kind of technology is way more effective for Russia than the US. Russia does not have military bases all over the world.
With this the Russians show they can hit any target, anywhere in the northern hemisphere in minutes without escalating to nuclear use.

I am only surprised it took this long for the Russians to do it. It is a perfect way to either test RS-28 Sarmat, or get rid of the near expiration date missiles, be those the Satan or the Topol. The Russians have likely hundreds of expired ICBMs they can use.

They could use these missiles with over Mach 20 penetrators to blow up underground facilities in Ukraine like their underground gas storage facilities or underground weapons storage. Without gas storage Ukraine will have one damn cold winter.

If millions more move out of Ukraine it will both increase the economic burden on the EU and make it easier to invade and control the rest of Ukraine. Expanding the security buffer around the Russian border and Russia's heartland.

The throw weight of the ICBM is way larger. At speeds over Mach 20 you do not need explosives. Just the kinetic impact is enough to destroy even hardened targets.

After examining the footage, there's no Molinya FPV drone involved. Rather a Krasnopol took out a Bradley, and an FPV drone coming to attack the same Bradley, gets to see the Krasnopol hit the Bradley before it too the FPV hit the same Bradley.
