Summary of major events since Kursk:

1. Ukraine pretty halted their advance in Kursk. They take some land, lose some.

2. Russian counterattack in Kursk is rapidly retaking the flat lands. There is nothing to defend with. This led to heavy casualty and mass retreat of Ukrainian troops. No sign of stopping so far.

3. There was a brief moment of confusion in Donetsk, likely caused by rotating troops away. Russian capitalized that in early days of Kursk and quickly advanced in Donbass.

4. That confusion stopped. Ukraine restabilized the front in Donbass, sort of. They even drove back some of the Russian advance like in Chasiv Yar.

5. Russians shifted from grabbing freebies back to sieging key forts. Expect progress to slow down until key forts fall. Ugledar likely to fall in days.

This thing has been flip-flopping so often it's changing daily now. Above was yesterday, but today:

Should the Russian attempt to gain a foothold in as many villages and city as possible before the autumn rains? So they can grind them out while the fields and forests becoming muddy.

Ukrainian mines keep floating to the beaches near Sochi. Ukraine is not keeping its end of the deal with regards to Black Sea access.
This is probably just a Russian reminder that they can strike back. These strikes could ramp up if Ukraine continues with its stupid idea that they "won" over the Russian Navy. When the only reason they can even access the Black Sea is due to UN grain deal.

Just the Russian submarines in the Black Sea alone could sink all the shipping going to and from Ukraine if the Russians wanted to. Heck they do not even need to do that, they could spot the ships via satellite and hit them with Bastion or Bal from Crimea if necessary.
