Ukraine advances in Kursk: Military commandant’s office established

Ukraine has established a military commandant's office in the Kursk region, led by Major General Eduard Moskalev, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during the Meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Rumors that the ZSU has withdrawn units in Zaporizhzhia and Donbas to redeploy to Kursk. In addition, the Ukrainians seem to want to open other fronts inside Russia, a recent reconnaissance attempt was made in Kolotilovka in Belgorod Oblast.

If it's the case Russia need to push heavily in Zaporizhzhia and Donbas, crawling is not enough. They loss quite a lot of cities in days in Kurtz while they are taking months to take one from the Ukrainians in the south.

If they are not able to go deep in Zaporizhzhia and Donbas asap they need to cut that pocket in Kurtz to stop the bleeding, Ukraine don't have enough troops there to hold ground, better to not wait for it.

The most surprising side of the Kursk offensive it's that they have enter there without much resistance using a big task force with all the bling bling, they had even close in fighter support !
What are your sources for that? All I've seen is that day 1 some Russian border guard posted a close fly by at night but what is almost 100% a Su34 from their own side, since an Ukrainian fighter would not fly directly over enemy territory unless they're suicidal.
Russian oversee of the situation was null, they didn't see it coming, didn't build forces and just got ***hurt badly.
Okay
They are lucky that Ukrainian forces have been diminished heavily,
So to recap: "Russian oversee of the situation was null, they didn't see it coming, didn't build forces and just got ***hurt badly."

But Ukraine's offensive just mysteriously heavily diminished so it's ok.

It's almost like Russia has overwhelming fire superiority and CAS working around the hour, so an attack with a whole corps+ sized detachment at this point has already lost 1000s with little to show for it.

Or idk maybe you think a more feasible theory is that Russia didn't prepare anything, got "hurt badly" whatever that means but Ukraine's best troops are just disappearing in thin air in Kursk, taken by Baba Yaga, General Winter, or some other mystic phenomenon.
if they would have done it last year it would have been way more troublesome, don't know how they would have been able to contain it.

Grom Kaskad takes the credit for the Challenger kill. This used to be BARS Kaskad, and then the Obtf Kaskad, which operated between Zaporozhye and Southern Donetsk, a unit that played a role in blunting the 2023 Ukrainian summer counter offensive. This confirms the unit has been moved to Kursk. This unit's specialty centers around using UAVs and Lancets, and recent work includes targeting for Iskanders.

We got a Russian MoD report of an Iskander strike on Lubny, Sumy region, destroying a convoy of 15 tankers. Waiting for them to release footage on this. I am not sure if tankers refer to tanks or fuel tankers, more inclined it's the latter.

Have seen video of Ukrainian Su-27 doing CAS. It's not a blind border jumping with a squad... They have mustered forces and got in without hurdle. Civilian population was still there so it was not a trap or a 5d chess move by Russia, they got themselves in a bad situation looking at the star blindly.

Offensive have slowed down for sure, still they are pulling more in. If they are able to push enough troops in to dig themselves in a number of cities they got in, it means destruction of a lot of assets on Russian side.

Ukrainian forces would have not gone that deep if Russian forces have seen them coming or had prepared something against that type of incursion in that region.

Yes Russia are fighting back, they are good at reacting. Throwing brute force to destroy the incursion is a thing, but right now they are bombing Ukrainian forces in Russian cities...

And which "cities" are these? Try looking at the map. It is more like capturing hamlets and trying to capture small villages and failing at it.

Hi,
I sometime feel like Ukrainian are trying to get something before sitting
on negotiation table, specific to USA elections in case DT come to
power and push Ukrainian to start negotiation with Russians to end
this war amicably
just a little guess over the latest Ukrainian incursion into Russia
thank you

You are oversimplifying things. For you it is like the 2014 coup in Ukraine never happened.

I mean, Poland still plays victim with regards to Molotov-Ribbentrop, refusing to acknowledge that the areas occupied by the USSR were actually Ukranian territory annexed by the fascist Piłsudski government during the Russian Civil War.

Russian soldier headbutts an FPV drone and seems to survive and walks away

Ukranian soldiers with WW2 nazi regalia harass a local including calling him "Russian pig" in German.

Meanwhile in the south, Niu York and Pokrovsk are increasingly at risk
