Hi,
by the way why can’t we assume awacs supplied by Sweden are not properly meant
for Ukrainian airforce, as they might be taking over turn of business and reliving NATO
awacs for their own job or to give them some relief from such a long war which is going
on for more than 2 years or so
thank you

NATO have aircrafts doing the job presently and Ukraine don't have crew trained to operate them. Training them to be better than mediocre will take more than a year. NATO will man them or that gift is irrelevant on the battlefield for the next two years.

Yet.

This war is gonna last a long time at this rate.
The rate is not static. At some point there will not be enough Ukrainians to fight. The Russians may opt to further stretch the contact line by opening more fronts. This is a common theme in wars where the contact line appears to be stable, then you see a sudden collapse, such as in the case of the Wehrmacht during WW2.

Well there will be coverage loss tho, mainly because shorter endurance of the aircraft and to some extent lower ceiling. Unlike E-3 which can stay some 11 hours. The SAAB-340 AEW is only about 5 hours, and there doesnt seem to be aerial refuelling capability. Thus it's unlikely they will take role from NATO AEW.

Establish a no-fly, no-walk, no-peek zone inside Ukraine just like the west did in Iraq, Yogoslavia, Syria, Libia etc. without any (UN) legal base. Or military base in Ukraine as part of the peace treaty, like US in Japan and Germany. What the west did in the past many decades has given everybody a blank check of doing the same thing to any pro-west country and even western countries themselves. Hehe, the Chinese saying "出来混总是要还的".

[addition]
There is a chance and some western mouthpiece have suggested Ukraine to give up the territory that Russia has taken. If Ukraine take that choice it will get off the hook and able to join NATO without triggerring article 5. That is not something Russia want. By having a foothold in the not-annexed area of Ukraine, Ukraine is kept on the hook forever. And I suppose Russia will not officially annex such area just to serve as a materialistic garantee in case of a final peace treaty is signed. Another way of keeping the hook is cease-fire without treaty.
I don’t think Russia will do such thing to Kharkov, a region that has been historically Russian. NATO didn’t have any care for Iraq or Yugoslavía, it is not a comparable situation.

If Russia is able to take them military (this is the big IF) Russia will without doubt annex Kharkov, Dniepro, Poltava, Sumy and Chenigov. This can be taken for granted.

Strategically it does not have sense to leave historical Russian territories under the dominion of a country that can be subverted again in any moment
You are giving manpower to your hypothetical future enemy.
Annexing those territories you create a hard natural defense line in the Dniper that is easily defendable, and at the same time you assure more distance between a future Ukraine missiles and your biggest cities.

Also for what I know most of those Oblast are full of Russian speakers, that can be easily converted into Russian citizens when you change the media and education. Sumy and Chernigov are maybe more pro Ukrainian but they have very low population.

Indeed Russia started to give Russian passports in the little territory they have Kharkov. There were a new about this some days ago

Hi,
thanks for your reply, that was my point basic these couple of awacs by sweden can be asap
manned by their own people to give some relief to NATO assets as they been on line for a longer
time might need some overhaul of their assets or to rotate their assets, something like this in my mind
thank you

Hi,
thanks for your reply and info about the SAAB features, but my thought is even 5 hours will still
have some sigh of relief for NATO and might be direct USAF assets in the area beside Sweden
might want to invest long term in near future when Ukrainian will be able to get money and material
from NATO and USA to pitch their assets for sale
thank you

Artillery, bombs and drones have become the main destructive factor in the fighting in Ukraine, some believe that more soldiers are even killed by drones than by small arms fighting. An episode of a battle where four Ukrainian FPV drones tried to attack a group of Russian soldiers. We can say that the soldiers were really lucky; it is not always possible to escape from drone attacks. The location of the shooting has not been announced, the video has been shortened.
