Three months after Russia was supposed to have ran out of missiles they are still raining on the Ukrainians every night without interruption. I believed western intelligence on Russia and assumed they would have switched to carpet bombing cities by now, but apparently not.

I find it hilarious how poor western intelligence is. Not just with the missiles, but the whole operation. Nobody seemed to have any idea that Russia was planning on invading the Ukraine right until soldiers were on the border. A month before the war you had a senior NATO commander caught on video talking about how Russia can be an ally against China.

This is the biggest intelligence failure since 9/11. In fact it's probably worse as Islamic terrorism was a peripheral threat back then. Russia and China shoulld be bread and butter for the CIA.

I can bet despite this incompetency no heads will roll, in fact the incompetence will be rewarded. The CIA will probably have their $50 billion budget increased.

Pretty sure Poland never send any of their T-72M1R into Ukraine and those T-72s that were send were just vanilla T-72M1s with no substantial upgrade to the tank.

They actually did, you can see the thermal housing behind the gunner's sight. Ukraine hastily added K-1 to them but due to the position of the smoke grenade launchers, the top front of the turret is left unprotected

One reason why Biden is sort of changing his tune is because high energy prices which if it continues we may see gas in America reach $10 a gallon this summer which politically means the midterm elections will be even worse bloodbath. It’s forecasted Republicans will win the House of Representatives, Democrats keep the Senate(barely). However if gas is $10 that means we can see an even bigger red wave than 2010/2014. Likely Republicans control both chambers of congress.
Another is the coming food catastrophe. It won’t really hit us in the US that bad. But fragile countries in the Mideast(Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan) could have see severe food prices surges and likely lead to more instability and chaos. The Arab spring Was sparked by food prices going high and we are still dealing with the aftermath. This time it’s much worse and countries that survived the Arab spring will not survive this. Which means more treasure being spent to intervene and likely more refugees. So right now there is panic right now. Hence why the calls for negotiations and trying to open the ports of Odessa. However they are in too deep. They promised Ukraine everything. I think once it’s clear Ukraine loss the Donbas and the prospect of any victory they’ll stop giving Kiev aid.

Even if they did, they would have to send those subs through the Turkish Straits. They were closed by Turkey.
While Russia could theoretically transport subs through the Russian canal system. The whole idea is absurd.

Germany has 6 submarines in service in total. Russia has 6 submarines in the Black Sea Fleet alone. With a 7th currently in trials after upgrade to carry the Kalibr.
Impossible to field that kind of weapon without years of training. A lot of sweet talks with the shipping of wonder weapons like the US missiles system in the 700 million package. The package contain 4 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, known as HIMARS, and ammunition. What they will do with 4 of them? 4 ? They loss more in a day.

Throwing in their reserves? Now that sounds like the... opposite of throwing in the towel, which you claimed a month ago would happen "soon," don't you think? Or does "soon" mean a year or something in your clown language?

So you were wrong, ignore all calls to address it basically pretending it never happened, and now you're calling other people dumb... sounds like a killer combo for an American politician! You should definitely run if you're not. Go for broke; ask Gordon Chang to be your running mate for 2024 and put MAD, SNL, Daily Show out of business LOL

Give it some more time. Then we can start seeing the post about disastrous Russian retreat further West

The Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany’s foreign intelligence agency, fears that Ukrainian resistance could even be broken in the next four to five weeks. In a number of classified briefings in recent days, BND analysts have noted that while the Russians are moving much more slowly than they did at the beginning of the war, they are able to conquer small bits of territory each day.

Turns out. The reason why the West is scared of sending advance/heavy equipment to Ukraine is because they fear that the Ukrainians will obliterate the Russians/Militia and then invade Russia.

At the same time, sources close to the government say there is concern that Ukraine could become overconfident if it experiences a string of battlefield victories and rolls into Russian territory – which would mean that German tanks would once again be inside Russia.

Oh, that's easy. They're for training.

You are right though: if they were simply deployed to the front line, they'd be toast in short order.

I expect if the Ukrainians are trained and shown to be able to use the HIMARS effectively, then they'll get a whole lot more.

This war wen exactly the opposite way I assumed.

I though Russian economy would be in shambles but Ukraine would loss 40-50% of its land in couple months... Well it turns out Russian economy is much much more resilient than I would have ever guessed. Evidently, it is important that you deliver key inputs to world economy :) And when there are smart people utilizing this power to leverage correct monetary policy Russian economy/ruble got even stronger!

On the other side of the coin, Russia clearly thought their military would be much more successful and quick. They did not (and still not) use the full might of their air force. They had to accept a trench war in Donbas and fighting with mainly artillery. It is going really slow and all the significant gains happened early on like gaining control of Kherson and encirclement of Mariupol.

I think Russia lost much much more resources than it anticipated. However, west is the same. Especially Germany's stupidity is mindboggling. Evidently turning your back to *extremely* cheap energy and raw materials is not a smart move for your economy. Who knew?!@?!@? :D
