The War in the Ukraine

Russia was still reliant on food imports from the West back in 2014. SPFS and the Mir car did not exist either. So had Russia intervened like they did in 2022 you would have seen both food shortages and issues with all digital payment platforms.
Russia also was relying on imports of catalysts from the West to make diesel. That is how vulnerable to sanctions they were back then.

In theory there were workarounds for most of these issues but implementing all of them would have been a major bugbear. You can pretty much bet Russia would be much closer to the brink of economic collapse than they were in 2022 with 8 years of economic preparation.

The Tsar Tank drives into the center of Krasnohorivka like a boss. Shrugs off every FPV drone thrown at it. I don't know if the tank got lost with that attic roof over its way but it went way too deep into the city and still got away. Despite the comedic music, it's no laughing matter for the Ukrainians as the tank spearheaded a major Russian breakthrough south of Krasnohorivka which could be the straw that breaks the back of the defence there.

The tank was built by accident from a damaged T-72 whose turret couldn't turn. Maybe after this, more will be built directly.

The Ukrainians claimed they previously hit the tank in its shelter via HIMARS, and this might be a second tank or the HIMARS hit the wrong shelter. I wager it's still the first tank.

There's a crown of arrays on top of the roof that makes it a jamming monster on drones.

If confirmed, this would be one of the most successful attacks carried out by Ukraine in the entire war.

Is the second photo before or after the attack? In any case the launchers and radars seem to be parked too close to each other. As usual, the Russians can't learn a thing without getting whacked first.

It is believed that three launchers and a radar from the S-400 were destroyed as a result of the attack.

A hotel in Chernigov or Chernihiv got hit by a Russian rocket strike. Ukrainian bloggers are calling for blood donations. Hotels are usually residences for mercenaries and foreign advisers.

Three strikes were reported. You don't land three Iskanders on the same site unless you want to kill a lot of people.

Sometimes these kinds of mechanized assaults go badly wrong. Sometimes they don't. This is one of the successful ones allowing the Russians to put another beachhead in Krasnogorovka.

Su-34 dumps it's load on a hanger with Ukrainian vehicles. The video is from the 98th VDV, which means this is not far from Chasiv Yar.

If they had helicopters in the open... even without direct hit, they most likely got in range of debris and shrapnells. They certainly need to be well scrutined before flying.

The Russians typically launch two SAM missiles per target. It is easy to saturate the S-400 with a barrage like the one they did. Allegedly this was done with like a dozen ATACMS missiles. Maybe the Russians should just replace the S-400 battery with an S-350 one. It would be much harder to saturate.
