If they fly at this distance of the front, downing is expected with a huge plane like that...
It's very odd but it seems that @Fighter_Bomber himself might have been a crewman of the A-50. He has this cryptic post in his Telegram channel.
"Bro, I died yesterday. Everywhere about it wrote.
Let's remember..."
Then continues to post on his Telegram channel. He also confirmed it's friendly fire and the picture of the holed tail of the IL-22 is his and first posted on his Telegram channel.
The "died" part is in reference to all the postings about the two planes downed and their crewmen dead.
Based on this and if it's true @Fighter_Bomber was a crewman of the A-50, the A-50 managed to return with @Fighter_Bomber on board. However it's likely to be in a highly damaged state, taking it out of operational status for a while. So it's a "loss".
No reports of Mi helicopters in rescue mission sortie which would point to a downing. We have rescue helicopter sorties accompanying crashes and shoot downs before.
By the way @Fighter_Bomber is saying it's friendly fire.
Onto other news,
The perished Ukrainian Lt. General is Pavlovich Stanislav Nicolayevich. My apologies for not getting his full name first. He was still flying jets at 65 years old which is pretty bad ass. He was a veteran of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan so he goes way back. He was said to be training bomber crews which to me sounds like Su-24s and Storm Shadows.
