The War in the Ukraine

Or they can just bleed the Ukrainians while limiting their own losses to acceptable levels and wait for NATO to pull the plug on propping up Ukraine militarily and financially and watch Ukrainian resistance evaporate overnight, just like the much vaunted Afghan National army.

Without weapons, supplies and even food, the few die hards who choose to stay and fight will die, hard.
yes bleed ukraine, but in order to achieve victory you still have to go on the offensive to seize ground. just like how the taliban went on the offensive against the afghan government.

So many FPV drone attacks, more than often it's not just vehicles but directly into groups of soldiers. I will spare the footage to meet with forum guidelines and post only when there's no visible soldier is present. My impression is the drones are getting through despite the Ukrainian EW with alarming regularity. In addition to FPV attacks, quadcopter bombing appears to be back in vengeance after a pause due to a rise of trench warfare.

If there is any validity to this report (generated by a primary U. S. propaganda outlet), it seems that some may not have learned the axiom of dooming oneself to repeating history!

Putin has been ignoring his generals and directing the war himself, analysts say — and has been surprisingly cautious

  • Putin is largely ignoring the expertise of his military advisors, US analysts

  • Instead, he is making most of the key decisions on his own, they said.
  • The experts at the RAND Corporation said Putin has proved more cautious than many expected.

If true it's history repeating itself. Look back at history of nations run by one person who've gone to war and it will show it's the supreme leader always overruling his generals how the war is run.

there is literally zero proof provided in this article...journalism does not get any worse than this lol.

with that said, isn't putin supposed to be the one making decisions? he clearly is, the russian strategy right now seems quite coherent actually. bleed ukraine, rely more on fortified positions and artillery than manpower. its industry and oil export is permitting a more long term approach, while the loss ratio compared with ukraine also negated conscriptions that may be politically costly. this coherence only exists if the generals and putin are on the same page.

as well, the fact that 2025 being thrown around by shoigu proves that the generals still have putin's ears. typically politicians like their wars short, putin has acknowledged that it will not be.

Not the Mongols. Under Genghis, Subedei’s and Jebe’s council were, highly, regarded in the preparation and execution of campaigns!
