The War in the Ukraine

TB2 is a game changer. The production rate of these seem to be very high. Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger already have dozens of these. It's also very quick and easy to train drone pilots. By comparison, jet and helicopter pilots are difficult and slow to train.

I can see why Russia is interested in HALE drones like Sirius. With SATCOM, drones can road the battlefield for days and be called into action as soon as targets are found. As long as fighter jets can take down enemy radars with anti radiation missiles, drones have free rein of the sky. Only threat is IRST which can locate piston engine powered drones quite easily because of high heat signature.

Presumably, about 2 million men will be killed and another 8 million men crippled ( 4 to 1 crippled to kill ratio seem reasonable with modern medical care ) on both sides. Assuming 30,000 men are killed and another 120,000 men are crippled on both sides per year, this war will last many years, potentially being a new Hundred Years War. Russia and Ukraine have the same culture. Russia is simply a souped up Ukraine with more area and more population. In terms of culture, both sides are the same.

The Eastern and South Eastern parts sure. The Western and North Western parts have a lot of Polish influence.

Reznikov to be replaced by a different minister of defence. One of Crimean Tatar Turkish origin. I wonder if this move will pull Turkic countries closer to the Ukrainian cause.

That depend on how strong the "brotherhood" compared to things like "National Interest". The latter tho usually win.

Well, it isn't the interest of neither Ukraine, nor the Turkic states to have their citizens forcibly 'conscripted' into the Russian army.

If that happens tho.

The national interest here are things like Foreign direct investment, things that can help people live better life in their country like more jobs. That's much greater motivation to cooperate deeper. Will supporting the Ukrainian cause yield that, we'll see.

They are far more interested in joining BRICS. Some already on BRI and SCO. It's said that China is helping Turkey for joining BRICS. Erdogan will be flying to Russia to meet with Putin and will also meet Chinese delegation. Won't talk about BRICS anymore as there is another forum for that.

Drones maybe the future of the battlefield but not the TB2. Many of them were shot down by Buks and other old Soviet AD. SATCOM can be found using passive ESM. I have seen more radars on both sides taken out by drones than HARM missiles which points to HARM missiles being overated. HARMS can not be used against radars that are not employed, and they can easily be duped using radar decoys.

There are UAVs out there that are all electric powered. That makes them undetectable by heat sources. One of them happens to be the Lancet kamekaze drone which loiters the battlefield and does a good job of attacking air defense systems. It is often supported by other low radar signature, all electric drones made by ZALA that's used to spot targets.

I dont know about the Russia running out of tanks part yet.

According to an anonymous source to the state-run publication Sputnik, the Russian army has recently received several hundred T-90M tanks ready for combat operations on the front line, as well as a significant number of new T-72B3M tanks. Earlier, in the penultimate week of March, former President Dmitry Medvedev said that 1,500 cars would be produced this year. "We will make one and a half thousand tanks this year. Calculate how much our enemy will receive even according to the most optimistic calculations - that's the answer for you," he said. "Our enemies believed that our industry would choke, that is, we would spend everything - these are their endless conversations: "Shells ran out, tanks ran out, missiles ran out," he added, citing the scale of tank production as a refutation. "Yes, we didn't think about it some time ago, but it became necessary to launch new weapons production," Medvedev concluded.

I was still impressed earlier with the optical sights hitting a target 7kms away with a new based ATGM
