The War in the Ukraine

Destroyed AFU M88A2 Hercules in Zaporozhye. This is an armored recovery vehicle if you don't know.

It had to be recovered with two other M88A2's.

Seems like an unnecessary risk for a burnt out husk unless they are so obssessed about the PR aspect of the war that they'd risk equipment to avoid having the hull paraded in Patriot Park

If it's true and they really send small successive waves of soldier, why they do even try ? Not enough troop transport to carry soldiers to the front and they don't want to let them still long enough to build up a real punch ?

NYT recently put out an article that Ukraine has become severely casualty averse, and this was one of the aspects to blame for failure of the offensive as the NATO plan revolved around throwing walls of bodies against Russian positions.

Regarding reconstruction effort tho.. It's kinda Russia's burden be it their victory or defeat.

Russian Victory means that they have to rebuild what's destroyed, reorganize government and then pay their debt. If they got defeated, then the Ukraine and their Western partner will force them to do so.

I'd imagine Chinese contractors and loans will be used a lot in either case...

That's probably the case along with Russian's own contractor with Russian victory. Otherwise it would be something like US approach to Afghan, US-EU contractors but with Russian war reparation money. I would expect Ukraine to follow US anti China rhetoric.

Lol like US was forced to rebuild Afghanistan after losing? I don't think so. If they really have to gtfo they'll just leave the rubble and take whatever they can take.

Technically they already did as long as their occupation. When they finally leave, it's already done. Their legacy however is beyond the scope of this thread.

-------

Topics on what to do after the war ends is important because well, those rubbles wont rebuilt by themselves, nor the mines or XOD that wont clear themselves. Those Ukrainian debts etc also have to go somewhere.

yes for sure since the Russians rebuilt everything when the left in the same way to Syria and now Ukraine.

Anyway, let’s concentrate on the military aspects and do not divert into politics
