There are some things i noticed watching the destruction of Artillery or Air Defense System from both sides.
They seem to not really employing "Scout and shoot" But rather they actually pre-determine sites where the system can deploy, disperse and "unpack". The Ukrainians and Russians are finding these sites and monitor them periodically, to see when they were occupied and possibly for Air Defense Site, when they are online at a time. Then they determine when to strike.
The recent destruction of Russian S-300V sites and S-300/400 launchers as well as Ukrainian's equivalent sites appears to be the result of such. The presence of erected radar is, by no means the system is online, SAM radars can direct its radiation to Dummy load thus it cannot be detected by ESM's even with transmitter online as there are nothing being emitted from the antenna.
The other thing is apparent lack of point defense system protecting the SAM's. I wonder if they actually work separately. Another thing is probable usage of same sites over and over which allow their positions and deployment schedule to be figured out, this is case of complacence.
Ideally tho the sites should be regularly changed.
