The War in the Ukraine

If this is a psyop its a pretty damn elaborate one that makes Russia look bad and would severely damage the morale of frontline soldiers who don't have the context. What would be the purpose if it was one? Goad Ukraine into a trap? They've tried that numerous times already and Ukraine's never fallen for it.

Warning: removed political conjecture. Read the rules and the recent warning posts.

And how would those soldiers on the front line know about this event when their smartie phones have been taken away for security reasons?

Just sit back and let it play out. It's either a move by a Russian PMC, Wagner, trying to stage a coup or a psyop. There's also the possbility that this is an exercise of some kind and Western MSM is misreporting the situation as usual.

I agree we should sit back and watch. OTOH, I have a very, very, very hard time believing this is a psyop. I do concede it is theoretically possible, but...I find it to be wildly unlikely.

What about a live exercise? The last video posted by Temstar a few posts back showed civilians just chilling watching two soldiers doing their 'thing.' IF this was real, wouldn't they be running for the hills, hoping not catch a bullet?

Relying on mercenaries too much is always a bad idea. Let alone using mercenaries in what is basically your own territory.
They should have pulled the plug on Wagner a long time ago. When they started attacking Russian Army units around Bakhmut allegedly because they were withdrawing from their positions it should have been the final straw.

The Russian government intelligence services started Wagner because it provided them with a cover for plausible deniability for foreign military ops I think. But using mercenaries in a war right next door, and in such numbers, was a massive mistake. One of the reasons for the fall of Carthage was their excessive reliance on hired mercenaries, and there are other instances of that in history.

I think the Russian military command for the operational theater in Ukraine is in Rostov. So Wagner is probably trying to decapitate the military command as a first step for whatever stupid thing they want to do. Maybe they want to "punish" the military command like they did to those Russian Army units around Bakhmut. This is retarded and they need to be disarmed and broken down. There should be no space for alternative chains of military command.

To be honest right now it's feeling less like a coup and more like a really lively pay dispute.

Uhh, pay dispute is kind of a reversible thing, worker not happy with pay you pay more and everyone chill. I don't think everyone is going to be chill after this is "resolved", Prigozhin crossed the line, any settlement is going to be temporary just buying time.

OTOH, with how peaceful this coup has been I'm still not ruling out psyop
