The War in the Ukraine

i think its worse than that, the fact that russia has started its own offensive on the kupyansk-lyman front shows that it is quite confident that the current deployed forces in zaporozhia is more than enough to take on anything ukraine can throw at them. ukraine is now running into issues with being unable to concentrate its forces, having diverted some of its reserves north to blunt the russian offensive around kupyansk. if ukraine does not take on a defensive posture soon and continues to spend its forces on fruitless attacks, then i am worried this winter will see another russian offensive with devastating results.
To elaborate on this, 21st separate mechanized brigade from 10th Operational Corps have been spotted in Lyman direction:

Elements of 10th Operational Corps:
21st mechanized brigade
33rd Mechanized Brigade
37th Marine Brigade
47th Assault Brigade
82nd Air Assault Brigade

You can see from the above list that the rest are all busy fighting on the Zapo front with 82nd being that famous brigade with the Challenger 2, Stryker and Marder that's being held in reserve. But they seem to feel it was necessary to split away 21st and move them up north.

Yeah, still a problem tho.

It always difficult one as they held initiative on what to struck and there is no practical way to disperse Shorad's. If i were ever to try blaming Russians i would ask where VKS is as their aviation is a key to cover wide area from such target.

Also.. there is a vid on Storm Shadow interception :

It's from Brother Zoka.. so his comment section will always be "spicy".

The fate of interception tho is uncertain but one thing for sure it's not tree line at the end. could be cloud or explosion. and it's not the missile hitting target either as it's from 5 km distance.

In certain ironies, the fastest missiles in the world are intercepted by the old Patriots, while Russian defenses cannot shoot down subsonic missiles in areas where crews were presumed to be 24/7 vigilant, Crimea being a critical area.

It's a bit disappointing how they leak videos of how their defenses fail, and the pro-Russians on Twitter want to make you believe that it was a victory... they don't have the slightest respect for their followers.

Who told you patriots are old? They're the most capable missile defense system ever made. Even then it took 36 missiles to down two kinzhals per scmp. And those are just aero ballistics that were rebranded as hypersonics and barely break mach 5.

Also there were two impact craters near the bridge so Russian EW probably worked.

Missile defense isn't like a video game where you click on dots to down them. It's literally harder than hitting a bullet with another bullet.

Funny, if anything, I would consider the Leopard 2 to be the superior tank over the Challenger 2. The Challenger 2 is honestly nothing special. I would even consider it to be inferior to most Western tanks.

Rifled barrel, overweight, really thin LFP.
Yes, the Challenger 2 hasn't had any meaningful upgrades since it was originally designed in the early 1990s and is basically the same tank from back then. And even back then in military trials with several countries they were generally rated worse than its western competitors (Leopard 2, Abrams.) Leopard 2A6 are definitely superior than Challenger in many aspects
Challenger 3 program will probably bring them up to par but that's not what the Ukrainians got.

Are you taking the Ukrainian claim in face value ?

Well there is that Patriot own-goaling Kiev Zoo, Their Buk own goaling apartment building and God knows how many 5V55 missiles of their S-300 not really doing what it supposed to do. yet Pro-Ukraine accounts trying to claim 100% interception rate. If you ask me tho.. They're just as insane as your description for Pro-Russians. If you sane however you wont take either claim at face value.

Very big and Interesting series of claims from Shoigu and Putin this past week. They have become bold due to the success of the Russian defense so far. Putin claimed that Russia will launch an offensive after the Ukrainian counteroffensive burns out.

Shoigu claimed that Russia recruited 114,000 new contractors and 52,000 new volunteers in 2023 Jan-June (166,000 men). They currently receive 1,336 new recruits and 112 new units of equipment every day.

5 new regiments (presumably infantry?) added to the 1st Guards Tank Army and the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army.

One new reserve Army and new Army corps will be completed at the end of June 2023 with 3,700 units of equipment.

The new reserve army is the 25th Combined Arms Army and the new corps is the 40th Army Corps.

There are over 40 volunteer formations currently active.
