Exactly, we know Ukraine is having a hard time on the offensive because we can directly observe vehicles being blown up, we can rely on Mappers to see how the front is trending and a general gist of how the war is going. Similarly we can actually tell that Russia has suffered a few ammo strikes from HIMARS because RUSI article specifically mentioned that ammo dispersion has taken place and HIMARS is now less effective, you can bend and twist a few videos to make whatever conclusions you want, but you can't fake changing doctrine and tactics based on battlefield reality.Abscence of evidence cannot be taken as evidence.
Right now, the most reliable and maybe only way to gauge the conflict would be by looking at how the front moves.
On a sidenote, regarding Ukraine threatening jailing people posting public videos, not even sure why maintaining OPSEC is seen as a bad thing in the first place. Currently Russia basically have free reign to strike anywhere they want within Ukraine, the only limitation that they have is the intelligence required to execute the strikes, not giving them free intel in the form of damage assessment through public clout chasing online is the LEAST that the Ukrainians can be doing.
