Are they getting ATACMS or GPS guided rockets ? That's the best improvements i see over their existing Grad and Smerch system.

I was just reading someone's (a Chinese person) alternative theory on why it seems Russia is suddenly having a lot of success with supply interdiction and bombing troop concentrations behind the front line:

China is now sharing real time satellite reconnaissance data with Russia, similar to what NATO is doing with Ukraine.

This vs HUMINT, is there any way to tell which is more likely from how and what targets are struck?

Aftermath of the attack, hit by something pretty big it seems.
Damn that building got levelled. Ballistic missiles are no joke. With so many Ukrainian soldiers dying I wonder how much longer western governments can keep lying about whats happening this war?

It's unethical to pretend that things are going well when Ukrainians are getting wrecked this badly.
Russian repelled a counterattack in Kharkiv Oblast. Why in the hell would Ukraine try a counterattack in such an irrelevant area?
I imagine they are trying to do the same thing Russians are doing but in reverse. Try to hit different areas to force Russia to reinforce positions around Kharkhov again thus relieving some pressure on Severdonetsk. If that post is true it sounds like they underestimated the forces already there.

Doesn't Russia have geostationary satellite with real-time monitoring capabilities? Russia is a reputable space power with independent GLONASS GNSS and ISS modules, why would Russia not own this relatively basic tech that even commercial companies deploy and rely on China to supply it? Also, if geostationary, Chinese satellite are more likely focused on Asia-Pacific region than Eastern Europe.

they launch a newest satellite just before the start of operation. This Iskander missile system is associated with real time recon to the battlefield level. They have been working on continuous monitoring of Arctic in civilian side. so logical they prepared same for Ukraine but not disclose.

Also in 2020, work began on the possibility of providing monitoring of the Northern Sea Route in virtually continuous mode.

For processing of Satellite data ? I recalled a directorate of satellite intelligence which was part of KGB. but dunno what it called today. They're responsible for processing the optical, radar and ESM intel from Satellite reconnaissance, maybe like US NRO.

I don't think targeted strikes have improved, if anything they aren't as common as they were earlier in the war. That may be because there's less targets now, or the Ukrainains have finally clued up and started implementing radio silence seriously, especially on social media.

Anyway I think we could be seeing another nuclear escalation coming. There's the issue of the MLRS that the Russians aren't happy about.
But the big one is the threats to send in NATO vessels to escort cargo ships. America wants Ukrainian grain to help pay for some of the military equipment they've been sending over and they've finally realised that the rail route isn't a viable option. So the plan seems to be convince/bribe Turkey to let in NATO vessels and use them to escort cargo ships out of Odessa. There's the small issue of all the Soviet era sea mines the Ukrainians haphazardly planted in the surrounding seas.

While America is quiet on the issue of sending in naval vessels the UK seems to be taking the lead on this one and have promised to send at least one if something is agreed.

Russia allowing the Ukraine to export millions of dollars worth of cargo would be stupid. I'm sure they've figured out by now they've had two ships sank by NATO supplied missiles and they'll relish the opportunity to even the score.

So I think NATO/UK/US will keep telegraphing their intentions over the next few days and it's going to lead to another nuclear standoff.

Snake Island 2.0. They cannot win where it matters, so waste resources trying to get a meaningless win at an irrelevant quiet corner just for some Twitter likes and Reddit points, because as any military man will tell you, that’s what wins wars!
