The War in the Ukraine

Nice. This gives us a total estimate of 888 BMP-3 in Q1 2022.
But the numbers of available Russian tanks in the table are highly inflated in some cases plus Oryx has always problems with amount of photo evidence so they lag badly. Those numbers don't take into account the fact that to put something out of action it could be damaged, sometimes lightly, sometimes it needs to be reworked in the factory and that's why one should take the number of lost equipment and add around % more.

This is statistic. It doesn't take into account that some units are completely obliterated or need to be reformed. One should also always think about the loss of trained crews (and it's not always possible to jump into another tank and go back to the battlefield).

I've heard that there always were some great Russian closed groups but they can't work anymore because they can get 15 in jail for doing this stuff nowadays.

No. It is likely over a thousand BMP-3 vehicles. They built like 100 a year since 2015. They typically order like a batch of 200 every two years. This order was less than 200 because they ordered another 40 for the Marines in a separate contract. Add to that the BMP-3 manufactured before 2015 and it is over a thousand. But sure keep believing whatever Oryx says.

A table was created with some vehicle information from both sides of the war, based on Oryx data.

The 5th column Уничтожено represents the destroyed vehicles, the 6th column Захвачено represents the captured vehicles, the 8th column % потерь represents the percentage of losses and the last column Осталось represents the total of vehicles and what it contains.

1st - Russia:

2nd - Ukraine:

It turns out that the Ukrainians have more tanks than they had before the start of the war. I don't trust Oryx, but the information contained in the table that was created is pertinent.

I'm pretty sure there were images of destroyed T-72M1's, but I'm not particularly shocked Oryx hasn't counted them.

Oryx does not count destroyed Ukrainian MiG-29 or Su-25 properly either. His account of Ukrainian losses is totally non-credible.

And a lot of the Russian vehicles he counts are too burnt down to positively identify in the first place. Then add to that the fact Russia and Ukraine have overlap in some tank models like early model T-72s and T-80s. I do not trust blindly photos of burnt down plain T-72 or T-80 tanks because the Ukrainians have a history of filming their own destroyed vehicles, like BMP-2, and claiming it as Russian losses. When the war started the Ukrainians even claimed one of their own destroyed Su-27 near Kiev was a Russian aircraft. Except the Russians haven't operated the Su-27 in the Ukraine war. They also claim Russian attacks with Tochka-B. But the Russians haven't used in this war either and in fact it isn't in service anymore.

Ah, I can't remember where exactly it was again.

But in some video (pretty sure on the guancha channel), there was a good video (or part of) that can actually serve as a good basis for Russian losses.

In the video, what gets explained is of BBC russia, yes I know its BBC wait on me though, they use actual people in Russia (and they post/make news in Russia in russia language) where they get people to try and find people who got notified of their relatives dying.

They have confirmed about ~2500 deaths, and also the deaths of 2 generals (and not the 12 parroted in western media).

I think the chances are they might be correct in their reporting, and we can somewhat have a basis/minimum estimate of about ~2500 russian soldiers dead (from conflict start to now).
