The War in the Ukraine

Ukrainian APC engaged and destroyed by Russian tank. Note usage of Mavic drones to shadow the tank and give their crew a third person point of view advantage not unlike that of a video game.

FH70 howitzer destroyed by obtf Kaskad in a counter battery operation.

T-72B3 hits a Ukrainian hideout. This looks like the Kremennaya frontline. Note the ERA roof rack used to deal with Javelin missile attacks.

Take down of a Ukrainian radar unit by Lancet.

URGENT: PMC "Wagner" received a combat order, the group should be given everything necessary to continue the assault on Bakhmut

E. Prigozhin:
Tonight we received a battle order for the first time
for all this time, in which, if you remove the secret data,
the bottom line is as follows: they promise to give us ammunition
and weapons as much as we need to continue
further actions, they swear to us that everything will be on the flank exposed, which is necessary so that we are not cut by an adversary, we are told that we can act in Artemovsk as we see fit, and they give us Surovikin,
as the person who will make all the decisions.

As part of the hostilities PMC "Wagner" interaction
from the Ministry of Defense, and this is the only person
with the star of an army general who knows how to fight,
among those with this star is an army general.
And another important detail, yesterday I was in our closed
chats specifically asked a question to all the commanders of the junior
link, which immediately brought to the fighters, if someone wants,
he can move to other military formations.
Everyone unequivocally answered no, and in obscene, of course, characteristic of PMC "Wagner" form.

Ukrainians don't seem to confident ...

Senior Ukrainian officials fear counterattack may not live up to hype - Washington Post

"The Ukrainian military has spent nearly 15 months exceeding the world’s expectations. Now, senior leaders are trying to lower those hopes, fearing that the outcome of an imminent counteroffensive aimed at turning the tide of the war with Russia may not live up to the hype.

“The expectation from our counteroffensive campaign is overestimated in the world,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said in an interview this past week. “Most people are … waiting for something huge,” he added, which he fears may lead to “emotional disappointment.”

As expected the whole Wagner rotation thing seems to have been some sort of insane political theater... To what end I have no idea.

Did anyone really expect that Russian forces would use open letters to convey the movement of troops?

Some believe that this disinformation operation by Prigozhin and the Russian command was intended to give Ukraine that they could be exposed in Bakhmut with the AFU being able to concentrate their counter-offensive on that front, but I would very much doubt that.

But this confusion apparently proved that there is a division between PMC Wagner and the Russian command, with alleged proof of Wagner coming under the direct command of Surovikin.

Ukrainian air defense system unable to defend from Lancet attack.

I already showed this before but it turns out Bukovel was supposed to be an antidrone system. The antidrone weapon however falls victim to a Lancet.

An attempt to camouflage an armored vehicle didn't work against a Lancet.

Ukrainian armored vehicle hit by a precision guided weapon, observed by a Russian UAV.

In any case Kadyrov and his merry band of Chechens are still joining the party in Bakhmut, and are already there as I post this. In return Wagner units have begun repositioning in Seversk where the Chechens have been operating. This sounds like a scratch your back scratch my back arrangement. Both have new HQs set up in the Zaporhyzhia region where they both might relocate there.

The other news I am getting is that Surovikin is directly commanding Wagner units in Bakhmut. Surovikin will also act as the liaison between Wagner and the MoD.

It will look more like emotional damage.... The problem with all this hype it's that Russian are waiting for it big time.

The Ukrainian forces need for the dirt to be dry and for a very good cloud cover to mass forces swiftly somewhere and push.

No way they will be able to mass-up slowly and wait for the good conditions, it's willing to be on the receiving end of whatever can fire on their position.

Ukrainian SPG gets hit by Lancet.

Many casualties and destroyed vehicles from the Russian incendiary attack on Bakhmut.

A powerful explosion occurred at the AZH plant in Avdiivka after the Russians bombed it.

The video says that this was a Ukrainian stronghold that was destroyed by a Russian missile strike. However it looks to me the Ukrainians blew up the buildings themselves to prevent them from capture. As these buildings are in the 'citadel' area this implies that the Russians may have already breached the defensive line.
