The War in the Ukraine

Wow Wagner really is pulling out of Bakhmut

Wagner is Russia's star player and had less than 2 miles to go before taking the whole urban side of Bakhmut and now they are handing it over to second string player. I mean it likely would have taken another month or two before taking all of Bakhmut but still gains are gains even if they are measured in meters. Chechens have no idea what's coming/heading their way and it looks like the Russians are done when it comes to any kind of offensives in Ukraine. They have now become a defensive military in Ukraine.

Akhmat was in Mariupol, I dont know how that is second string.
Moreover, Akhmat had more than 1/2 to rest, resupply and train new recruits, while Wagner has seen non stop action for months.

There have been many reports circulating recently about a Russian Kinzhal missile having been intercepted by a Ukrainian air defense system. Reports mention "Western air defense system", and of course as I type this the western MSM now floods in with the standard circle jerk of quoting eachother that it was Patriot system and how this is a "game changer".

Their own source?

Mikola Oleshchnuk.

They simply claim that "Ukraine's Air Force claimed..." to have done so.
They do not cite a link to this claim, nor explain how their Air Force has done so instead of ground based AA, or as to whether or not ground based AA is integrated into the Ukrainian Air Force branch or not.

What's interesting is neither the AP nor the Washington Post actually share the photographs or originating source for their articles.
These originating sources and photographs depict a nosecone from a missile which is claimed to be that of a Kinzhal, punctured. Yet they at the same time they say that the warhead is missing, and must have detonated at interception.

So we have a supposed Kinzhal missile nose cone which was blown away by a warhead detonation, yet lands neatly and cleanly to be photographed, having survived a 500 kilo payload explosion.

Deja Vu.

@Slavyangrad
"circle jerk?" That's a little rude I'm sure the mods won't be too please with your immature choice of words. Seems you're just having difficulties accepting kinzhal got intercepted.

The Ukrainians have spent the past 6 months whinning about how they don't have the means to intercept Kinzhals, Izkander and other weapons, that they should be given F-16 so they can shoot the carriers down. Now suddenly, a Patriot intercepted one despite the version Ukraine has doesn't have the capabilities to do so and after denials by the own Ukraine government.

So I guess this means Ukraine doesn't need F-16's anymore as they are perfectly capable of intercepting hypersonic weapons with what they have or they are lying out of their ass.

The precedent set by the Ghost of Kiev suggest it is the later.

How many HiMARS Russia claimed to have destroyed? A Kinzhal was intercepted I couldn't care less whether you believe it or not.

It could be the kinzhal had a malfunction on its terminal phase... who knows but whether it malfunction or not it got intercepted.

The photo taken seems to be of a supposed missile body that landed in an artificial turf field without forward momentum. If you look carefully you will notice that there is no room for a warhead from where the turf is cut to where the warhead would be. And if you look at the warhead you would need to determine whether the green material on the warhead is turf or real grass. It's dubious as to whether the warhead and the missile body are from the same missile.

The military reply specifically was in response of that tweet. Now you need to pick who is lying.
