Yep, they are probably the russian std 7.62x54 version, they are nice ! They would fetch nice sum of cash on the market.

For defensive purpose, they are still a machinegun.

Bit doubtful it would go on the market. Probably would end up in a warehouse until the conflict is over or be turned into scrap. There is a risk if they sell the gun then it may slowly get resold multiple times until it gets sold back to Ukraine.

They can use the money to make 10 modern guns.

I guess Wagner can tap into Soledar for ammo and firearms. But i heard they didnt store heavy calibers there, that's kinda downer.

Did he say "PPS" as in WW2 era SMG PPS?

Yeah. It was mentioned that not only new Ukranian stocks were there but also really old soviet weapons, and it makes sense. Being a salt mine, humidity must be pretty low so it is a good place to store weapons long term without worrying about them rusting.

Apparently the Ukranians aren't sharing their new plans with the west in order to prevent "leaks", though the americans deny this.

Seems one of the videos of a destroyed T-90M put out by the Ukranians was actually faked

Video of an operational IRIS-T battery in Ukraine. Particularly amusing that unlike the Russians, they make no effort to censor the screens, interfaces or anything, even the voices are left uncensored..

and apparently the battery was somewhere in Odessa.
