The mistake of the United States is that many years ago it was necessary to accept Russia into NATO
Pretty sure China would go to war against Russia if it joined NATO. China cannot accept US/NATO troops along it's border, it would be more dangerous than Xiongnu/Mongol/Soviet periods to have NATO directly on China's northern border.

NATO is a modern-day incarnation of 8-nation alliance, far bigger threat than 8-nation alliance ever presented.

If you consider "big fish" as someone with stars, then I think there are two possiblities:

1. Indeed there were fishes that big under Azovstal. If Russia got their hands on them they would want to keep quiet and use them as very useful cards for horse trading. Therefore we wouldn't know if big fishes are caught
or
2. There are no big fish, just little fishes or even just shrimped. So we won't see any.

In both cases outwardly to us onlookers we will see no big fish, so it's unverifiable and therefore pointless to talk about.
When the first evacuation corridor was announced, I said there might be undertable deals. And I was wondering if putin would touch base with Xi on any of those deals. Hence unlimited my ars. If this speculation turns out to be true, putin cannot be trusted, period.

Russia as part of NATO would not so easily deploy troops right along the border. These are barely populated places and it would go broke maintaining such a posture that is remotely effective militarily either as an invasion threat (and to carry that out) or to be defensive (kinda pointless as China surely would not initiate the conflict unless provoked into finding it necessary to carry out a first strike a la Pearl Harbour).

In such a scenario, it would be clear to China and most of the world that NATO plans on invading. Whatever excuses and priming of the press they used would not be effective on the minds of people who are unbiased.

China back then was not even the military strength of a single of the imperialist power. Now it is easily greater than the EU. Certainly nukes even the playing field and if they do posture in such a way, it would be appropriate to immediately scrap no first use policy and slug it out... build shelters, seed stores, and archives and nuke the demons back to hell. If their population are too blinded by hate and intolerance from the decades of media brainwashing then screw it. That's their fate. The minority voices of sanity and rationality cannot do much against all the propagandists. The west genuinely believes in its moral righteousness. Neo liberalism has been effective at fooling all and itself (well not all, obviously). Not only righteousness, with this war, the western left (and most of the right!) have revealed themselves to be exceptionally pro violence against all its supposed enemies. No population is truly as brainwashed as the typical westerner. When I was younger, I could not even entertain that idea but with years and knowledge, no other truth is as apparent as this one.

Westerners are pathetically weak. The most minor trivial inconveniences causes hordes of westerners to wallow in agony. These people can barely put their mind to work for 8 hours a day without bitching and moaning for the rest of their time awake. The west cannot survive a toilet paper shortage let alone a nuclear war. And yet they poke Russia about it... somehow their sane voices are kept silent on this and military leaders who ought to weigh in are quiet or immediately silenced when they don't follow the narrative.

Russia just isn't able to hit back at the real enemy and cause it harm. Actually with how things are going for the US, perhaps there are some things engineered to facilitate or accelerate its decline and demise. Good fucking riddance to putrid shit.

BTW having read your opinions on this war, I should clarify that I don't understand enough about it to really make a judgement but we all know the UK/US "West" is Biblically evil, the worst liars and propagandists to have walked this earth. It can be that Russia is an imperialist dick with its annexation of Crimea (again I don't know enough on this to really say or make a judgement) while its main antagonist US/UK is even worse than it potentially is being right now. The only constant and truth is the US/UK are led and ruled by something else on the scale of evil. Those who know, know. Those who choose to believe they aren't the worst of the worst and ignore evidence proving UK/US methods will never see the light even if it's right in front on them. Usually it's due to tribal allegiance and ethnicity. Apologists and those who condemn are like 1 in 1 million.

Still better than nothing... They are using latest supply on the front quite fast, 777 have been rushed and Polish t-72 too. It look like they keep their nicest stuff in the west or they are already in dust...

I've been saying this for quite some time, the rate of the export of western equipment is not necessarily a sign of strength, but a sign of a high rate of losses.

Apparently Javelin manufacturer can't replenish US inventory quick enough and US has send a considerable fraction of its own Javelins.

Russia has now captured intact Javelins that they don't know what to do with. The high rate of Western equipment losses is a given. A huge reason why the West doesn't send any serious military equipment is because they know the Russians may capture them for evaluation, study and determine how best to counter these weapons. The Americans even ripped out an important component in the M777s sent.
