The War in the Ukraine

Any trained personnel, equipment, parts, & facilities General Dynamics already has committed to existing orders would also have to be diverted to make those Ukraine bound tanks fit for service. So there's a question of priority and whether you delay deliveries to other customers.
Delivery of Javelin, Stringer, TOW-2 and AGM-88 to ROC has already been delayed due to this war, why not M1A2T.

In other news:
I've suspected as much before that ISR help is the easiest way for China to help Russia. I don't think sanction in this case will help Ukraine, as this company is now going to go "fuck it I'm already sanctioned, I'll sell any satellite image you are interested in"

Do we know how good the ISR they offer in terms of resolution and real time coverage?

Company formed in 2015, seems to focus on small sats:

, and sure enough in the sanction it says "and its subsidiary Spacety Luxembourg"

They seem to have a specialization in synthetic aperture radar images, eg:

Does SAR have much application in urban combat given this was with Wagner?

If accurate, the HIMARS must have really caught the Russian's off-guard when first deployed. Seemed like they were scoring hits everyday during the outset of the war, similar to the Turkish drone Baykar Bayraktar TB-2. Though it is impressive that to this point the HIMARS units seem to have avoided being attacked, especially with those Lancet drones Russia has been using recently.

I think it is kind of interesting to see the ebb and flow of the conflict, as one side introduces a new weapon, technology or tactic and gains some sort of temporary upper hand until the adversary develops an effective countermeasure.

EDIT: Also, I just have to say I think the Abrams is the best looking tank ever made! It just looks like what tank should look like! Like a G.I. Joe tank or something.

The spacety website has expired certificate (sanctions kicking in I guess) but said they have top end commercial C band SAR and can give results to customers in 6 hours after taking them. That would be enough to plan an attack beforehand but not enough to change your plan once combat starts. I assume they would use drones and UAVs for real time recon.

This chain of escalation is going to have a profound effect on any adventures Russia decides to go on in the future. Now that the West is able to provide modern tanks without any retaliation from Russia side, next time Russia is pushy with its neighbours the west can justify instantly escalating to tanks without fear of WW3.

I did some more digging on Spacety, I'm rather impressed with their little satellites:
So company has two satellites in the SAR constellation right now, Hisea-1 and Chaohu-1. Both are under 185kg, C band 1m resolution all weather SAR. The company built the satellite platform while China Electronics Technology Group Corporation No.38 Institute built the instruments. Each can get you an image in 6 hours. They were launched in December 2020 and Feb 2022.

Of particular note, in the early stages of the war when Russian was holding Antonov Airport and they got shelled,

and the image showed it didn't look good. This happened on 28th of Feb so Hisea-1 must have took that photo fast with the 6 hour timeline, as word first got out that An-225 might have been destroyed on 27th of Feb.

Perhaps this capability impressed someone.

How does the US know about this? Leaks from the Russian side I assume?

A diesel piston engine is quite more rugged than a turbine engine... it will just take some time to deliver them, better to have them in good working order. T-72 and other soviet damaged hulk could be salvaged in Urkraine, they have parts and know how but not these.
Excuses excuses. If they really want to there are endless work arounds.

They can sent out last gen DU.
They can give Poland Abrams to exchange PT-91.
They can ask Koreans to sell their K1.
Ask Japanese for old Type 74.
They can pay Germany to sell Leopards.
They can buy Leopards from Canada and send it against German will.
Or they can be not caring and give out high tech weapon like in cold war, there will always be better tanks down the line.
They can buy soviet tanks from Asia.
If they are desperate they can ask Africans to sell the Chinese export tanks.
