The newspapers say that from January 15 another 500,000 Russian men will be drafted into the army.
it might be a mix up with the recent announcement of expanding the size of russian forces? another half a million on top of what they already have would only be justified by some very large gains. even then, army of this size cannot be raised in a matter of months, it would take at least a year to turn it into a coherent fighting force.

even if russia does have another round of draft, the only way for it to be politically acceptable is with some sort of gains in the battlefield, as well as for its size to be significantly smaller than the last one. if lets say a second round of draft is 150k men vs 300k the last round, it will be easier for the country to stomach.

Each year they get 250000 to 300000 one year conscripts. Don't know if it's a draft or mobilization of 500 000 more or just half of it ??? Do they keep this year conscript because about 250 000 will leave after end of contract ...

Apparently since the start of the year it's no longer possible for men in the Ukraine to get married, divorced or a host of other things without being registered for mobilisation.

Also with the same legislation the Ukrainians are stepping up efforts to get Ukrainians abroad returned for mobilisation.

These are all things the winning side does naturally. Not at all a sign that Ukrainians are being wiped out.

No mention of this in western news, unlike the mass reporting when Russia decided to draft reservists.
It looks like the Ukrainians with the most freedom in the world are the ethnic Ukrainians of Russia.

According to Politico, the -allegedly- full composition of the new package of US military assistance to Ukraine. The package also contains $682 million for European allies. It is fair to assume it will include Soviet style weapons which little states of ex-warsaw pact countries don’t want to admit.

▪️100 BTR M113;

▪️18 155mm self-propelled howitzers and 18 tractors;

Western MBT are next and the Brits will likely be the first in that. It's all for the late spring early summer offensive.

theyre hanging on for dear life after mobilizing as many as 10 rounds lol

lets say they get 200 Leopard 2A7, what use are they when these get equally easily clapped by artillery and kornet as the 1000+ T64 variants they already had and are now getting rid of so fast that they need to get replacements among the active stock from NATO?

Except it's not Buk at all.. that's Aspide on chassis of Kub (Sa-6). For Buk thingy something has to be done on the large 9S35 "Fire Dome" radar to make it work to illuminate target for the missile (as Sparrow is SARH) Or you bring external illuminator.

Actually, good reminder, weren’t Aspide systems already donated? Perhaps the Buk chassis will be used as basically a TEL and slaved to the Aspide systems already donated?
