The relation between China and the neighboring country

Were those shows from HK TVB? They pretty much went downhill in 2000s. TVB shows used to dominate South East Asia, but lack of improvement made their show weak when comparing to Japan, South Korea and Taiwanese drama

Mainly Korean overshadow everyone else actually. No one watches Taiwanese drama nowadays. Their golden days like HK tvb are over. Falling way behind mainland productions too.

When I saw the headline "Australia to get tough on China".

I thought, OMG, what happened, it's going to be conflict? Is Australia going to send their gunboats and defend other people's territorial claims?

No, it basically headline about nothing! Australian prime minister talk tough, BUT there's nothing concrete to back it up! Lol. Talk about playing to your own audience (both Vietnam and Australia)!

The sad thing is Australia still don't know which side of their bread is buttered. In an Australian news channel recently, so much was made of how bilateral trade now stands at $16billion. (memory) And its growing fast.

Wow that's important! Until you compare bilateral between China & Australia is around $90 billion.

Even if trade between Australia & vietnam grows at 10% per year, it would take at least 20 years to get any where near China's level. And that's assuming China stand still!

It was then I realise that this broadcast was purly fo domestic consumption, which just to go to show how easily a message can get distorted to suit an agend!

Sorry, in my haste to post this, I should have quote the headline:

"Australia vows to crush Beijing's militarization of contested waters"

This is some statement!

All I see is PM Morrison making a few sound bite statement and rest is just a narrative of what the author wanted to sell.

Maybe, I don't know what he said. So do you know what he actually said?

I hope he didn't say what the headline suggested! If he did, there goes China relationship down the drain!

Thanks for the link. So according to the joint statement, nothing specific was said. It was all waffal.

The nearest was point 12, where it mentioned South China ses, UNLOCS, and about the militarization of the south china sea!

Lol, this is so vague, it could apply to anyone, (I know its almost probably aimed at China), as almost every country have militarised the area at some point.

Also, Vietnam's claim is almost as large as China's and other countries have objected to their claim and behavious (conviently not mentioned in MSM).

So to sum up, now I seen the statement,
I believe, it is the MSM that try to sensationlised the statement by "stating Australia has teamed up with vietnam against China, " when nothing of the sort was mentioned.

I know Australia has a reputation of speaking plainly, (which is why I was concerned of this news). But this transpired to be pure BS for headline!

Another fine example of MSM trying to manipulate public opinions.

So according to MSM China is encroaching with an oil exploration ship plus other ships for protection (due to the behaviour of other claimants) upon Vietnam's EEZ zone which is about 200 miles from their coast line. And this is wrong under UN blah blah. Fair enough.

But when US, UK and Aus do exactly the same with warships armed to the teeth within China's EEZ, it's ok because they are only conducting their freedom of navigation rights!

The hypocrisy is too much!

Here's the news on Vietnam's stance without western agitation. Clearly the recent actions from US and Australia are meant to agitate and promote tension. Their interest lies on raising tension in the SCS judging from their rhetoric and actions. It is not in Vietnam's interest to aggravate the situation either.

Exactly, I don't think it's in any countries in the region's interest to stir up SCS. And that includes China.

So all these "news" from the MSM about China's assertion, etc. Is all made up to stir trouble.

The only countries that can benefit from the stir up is USA and OZ. Although I'm not quite sure what OZ get out from this. I think they just still haven't grasp the notion that the world order has moved on, and they need to re-adjust. They really need to see which side their bread is buttered, and the quicker they realise that, the better it is for them and the region!
