Listen to this ex deputy prime minister of Thailand He said Thailand and China we are family It is more than culture it is in the blood . He also said in 1978 he stood in fornt of Beiking hotel and there is nothing there just people man and woman riding bike wearing the padded jacket of blue and grey No car to speak about And he come back recently and he was amazed by the change. He said I want to know how china do it

I don't know why MSM said China does not have friend except North Korea

A lot of Thais are originally from China. How close is the relationship between the two countries? Do Thais see China's development a threat?

In Thailand officially the Chinese population is only 10% but if you count people who had Chinese ancestry than probably half of the population are of Chinese descent specially in urban center like Bangkok, China Mai and Songkla, etc. And they are beautiful people man and woman
Even socalled native Thai are from Xishuangbanna in Thai Sipsong panna meaning 7 rice terrace

I don't know why MSM said China does not have friend except North Korea

Only some "fragile glassy hearts" from Taiwan, or better call them "Greenly Toads" of Taiwan, talk like that, because they want to convince themselves that they are loved by everyone in the world except people in Mainland China and in the NK, despite Taiwan has very few diplomatic ties to outside world. This is called Delusion by Self-enforcement in psychology.

Western MSM do know China's Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) and they do think all countries involved in BRI are China's friends. But they seldom report anything about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) because, I guess, they feel it is too scary to mention SCO to their audience.

His mandarin collar jacket got my attention. Apparently well made by a good tailor, chest and shoulder sitting nicely and clean.

continuing on this fascinating aspect of Thailand This Sarah Lam from Hongkong is also curious about Thai Chinese identity
Well I travel widely in Thailand As I said before most Thai has Chinese ancestry officially it is around 10% but unofficially it is more like 50% When they know you are Chinese they will tell you my family is also hailed from China and they have 2 names in their business card They are completely assimilated but still retain the basic of Chinese value and culture not so much ceremonies as the baba of Malaysia and Singapore who are more clingy to the old customs. But they also proud of their heritage

As the end of this interview when He said Yes I still follow the old teaching and value and He also said he want his son to know his heritage They own most of Thailand economy out of the 10 biggest bank 9 are owned by Thai Chinese the same with real estate developer and industry all the way to professional and aristocracy
Having the same religion and the same origin as the native Thai smooth the relation, they didn't suffer discrimination

Here is the synopsis from Sarah Lam

Thailand is a country which has the highest population of the Chinese diaspora, which contributes around 12 percent of its total population in 2012. I am interested in investigating how this large group of people thinks about their identity, their history, and their future. Therefore, I decided to interview the Poosak family to catch a glimpse of how the ethnic Chinese successfully assimilate into Thai society, meanwhile, how do they and why do they preserve or re-imagine their Chinese identity in the face of the influence of local culture and western culture.

I am Thai-Chinese-Finn. Mum is Thai-Finnish, Dad is Thai-Chinese, with Grandmother from Hubei while grandfather identify as Thai from Chiangmai. Growing up, I always identify as Thai never though to identify as anything else honestly. This is a great documentary and quit accurate. Especially when the interviewee said that many Thais have Chinese blood. Everybody I knew growing up identified as Thai but sometime we say, “oh yah some of my ancestors was from Guangxi too.”

In Thailand the dialect congregate around cities or area In the north and south are Hokkien IN greater Bangkok area and central Thailand it is mostly Teochiew a branch of Minnan dialect that settle in Guangdong province

Construction of the middle part of the China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline started on Thursday and is expected to be completed next October, according to China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), the country's biggest oil and gas company.

The middle part of the project stretches from Jilin province to Hebei province. Upon completion, the pipeline is expected to ease the gas shortage in Northeast China and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The China-Russia gas pipeline is expected to provide China with 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia annually.

The China-Russia East-Route natural gas pipeline makes up the eastern portion of Russia's "Power of Siberia" pipeline and runs from eastern Siberia to China.

With the project going into operation, Sinolink Securities' Resource and Environment Research Center said it expects Russia's share in China's gas market will increase.

CNPC has also signed an agreement with Novatek, Russia's top independent gas producer, in April, to buy a 10 percent stake in its new liquefied natural gas project, Arctic LNG 2, to increase gas supply in the country.

So much for the much hyped "push back" touted by the western MSM. China and Malaysia relaunch the east coast railway line

Malaysia has officially relaunched its East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project with China. The project was suspended in July 2018 by the Pakatan Harapan government due to high costs. Under the revised deal, the cost of the ECRL is cut by about a third to US$11 billion. An auspicious ceremony, complete with fireworks, was held to mark the blasting of one of tunnels in the east coast state of Terengganu.

The tie that bind. Officially the Chinese Philippine or Tsinoy is only 2 million make up about 1 %of the population but if you consider Phillipino who has Chinese ancestry it can be as high as 30%!
A moving account of poor Phillipino who trace his ancestry to Fujian and the response of his long lost relative in China who openly embraced him as long lost relative and travel all the way from Fujian to Phillipine to find them

Chinese can be said to be loud and maybe even uncouth but their sense of family transcend time and space of political boundary. or social class. It is becoming attractive even for Young Japanese and Korean

The history between the Philippines and China goes back a long way and further intensified when migrants made their way from China’s coastal regions to the Southeast Asian country in search of a better life for themselves and their families. It is of little wonder that some Filipinos like to say, “There’s a little Chinese in me.” And in the age of social media, more Filipinos are getting a chance to discover their Chinese roots, especially with the help of relative finder advocates. This episode chronicles the journey of an elderly Filipino to China after he found out that he had relatives there. The trip to Quanzhou City in Fujian Province was emotional for Abraham Go whose father left behind a family in China that Go previously had not known existed. Separately, CGTN correspondent Barnaby Lo goes on his own personal voyage to Jinjiang, also in Fujian Province, to discover his Chinese roots. Both sets of his family left China for the Philippines in the 1930s.

Beijing watching India closely for stance on Huawei

If India blocks Chinese telecom giant Huawei from doing business in the country, it can only be seen as a signal by New Delhi that it's taking sides in China-US trade rivalry.

"On the issue of Chinese enterprises participating in the construction of India's 5G, we hope the Indian side makes an independent and objective decision," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a press briefing on Tuesday, in response to a question of whether Chinese officials have said there will be sanctions on Indian companies if India blocks Huawei from its market.

Why does China attach great importance to India's Huawei decision? That's partly because it's to some extent a reflection of India's broader attitude toward China and the US. Washington has put pressure on New Delhi to act against Huawei. For example, in June, the US warned the Indian government that companies found to be supplying equipment of US origin to Huawei or its units could face punitive action, the Economic Times reported.

Chinese companies can afford to lose India's 5G market. But if India cracks down on Huawei because of pressure from Washington, the move will send a signal that India doesn't reject its inclusion in the US-led camp against China. This means India stands on the opposite side of China and Chinese companies amid the trade war.

India has seemingly been an advocate of the US Indo-Pacific strategy, but deep down, New Delhi has realized that the strategy represents the interests of the US instead of India. Bilateral relations between India and the US will likely grow increasingly complex during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's second term.

A tough test for New Delhi will be how to strike a balance between its relations with the US and China. India's attitude toward Huawei is not just a simple matter of whether a Chinese company can enter India's 5G market. It offers a window to observe the country's China policy during Modi's second term. That's why China is closely watching the development of issues related to Huawei.

Few EU nations have clearly stated that they will ban Huawei from involvement in their 5G networks. Why? That's because they don't want to take sides in China-US disputes and toe the line set by the Trump administration that only serves US interests. After all, any of these countries will pay a heavy price if they become a lackey of the US.

India has to think about whether to cooperate with Huawei on 5G. If India includes itself in the US-led camp against China, the country will lose Chinese business opportunities.

I remember in my childhood days in the 90s when there are Chinese TV shows / drama being shown in local television channels in the Philippines. However I noticed that in the mid 2000s there has been growing efforts to promote anti Chinese attitude by private news agencies and media stations. following these developments, Chinese oriented shows were quietly withdrawn from local channels and disappeared completely in a few years period. Now that the US has initiated a trade war against China, anti China rhetoric is in full swing in media outlets in the Philippines. This is a very dangerous plot that is being promoted by American intelligence agents in the country. The United States is conducting a powerful propaganda war against China among its neighbouring countries. China needs to act decisively to counter these efforts by the United States, China is the only Asian power that can save the whole of Asia from becoming expendable vassals of the United States and its cronies.

Were those shows from HK TVB? They pretty much went downhill in 2000s. TVB shows used to dominate South East Asia, but lack of improvement made their show weak when comparing to Japan, South Korea and Taiwanese drama
