Anyone can perform a surgical strike, you just need the propper equitment and discipline. There again, if China does decide to invade Taiwan, it will eventually resort to US x China. That would be rather interesting to see as well..

However, you do need to know WHERE to strike. It's not like China's communications are all in this big obvious building with "HIT ME" painted all over it. Any communications network is comprised of many different things, landlines, cell phones, satellites, and what not.

Im sorry, I meant 600,000 aircraft total including trainers etc. Their are about 400,000 personale serving the PLAAF. Keep in mind that China still uses old fighters like the J-6. these make up about half the PLAAF arsenal. Definantly not 3000. Thats way off. China has the largest airforce in the world (not exagerating).

That still doesnt give China 600,000 aircraft. That would cost a fortune to maintain. china only has about 3500. The j-6 had been completely retired by 2005. china has the third largest air force in the world, after America and russia. The PLAAF has about 330,000 personnel.

Even if China did have 600,000, it must be able to coordinate them. Simply impossible for china's current level of C3i.

Wow, Gollevainen u did get a chance to fire finish one magazine? Bcos from my own personal conscript experience, the artillery is like the engineers, they are the combat support ppls. The artilleries, transport & logistics, and division support elementsare usually located a certain distance from the frontline. So I guess it must be really bad situation for u arti ppls being attacked, bcos u all are so much at the back. Was it a raid on your battery by the enemies by commandoes or paratroops?

Wad Gollevainen said is true. Most of these military exercise are just to gauge the strengths and weaknesses of ur forces. It is also a means for the senior commanders to pratices manoveurs in the fields. One might question why armies use phantom forces like computers to practice, is bcos if u use actual troops to practise, it is veri expensive. Bcos just to prepare the logistics, planning and linking up, for a battalion exercise u need at least 4 to 5 days, tats abt a week, thus u imagine division exercise? Actually on the field, division ex are just to see whether the sub units can fight in coordinations and whether there is communications. How the soldier fights is up to the individuals will power, training........

Large scale exercise are also used to show off military prowess of a country. Thus u can frequently see those video footages of planes firing PGM at fake targets, troops rushing up the coast togehter with tanks. It is more of a political thing.

well Our brigade was the one making the offensive...Our battery was attacked only once (And I was the only one managed to have the change to shoot anything if you outclude the attack that my brother's battery made against the substitory platoon inside the battalion...simply becouse their lt. was so bored...

Anyway, they were regular infantry from other brigade, no commandoes nor paras. You see Finnish army has traditionaly fougth more in the rear areas of the enemy than forcing itself to dug up in particular front line. Gurrelia warfare in finland means the main tactick of our army so It has been rather hard to gasp the fact that in outside people connect gurellians to irregulars. In here the word gurelia ('sissi' in finnish) is offical army tittle for ligth infantry where as the mechanised infantry are called jaegers....So the situation wasent 'bad' in that sense. It would have been bad if the artillery would have called to form the 'fist' to counter attack enemy braketrough to some of the battalions.

Wait that was unclear, can you say that again?

He obviously thinks that the PLA is stronger than the American and Taiwanese armies combined.... how delusional...
US army is stronger by the sheer virtue of being able to spend 4-10 times more than the PLA can.
