I think SAA is defunct at a strategic level, there seems to be no general staff of any sort coordinated defense on a strategic basis.

The bridge at Rastan is a very simple case study. Engineering teams should have blown the bridge upon approach by the enemy, instead they did it from the air. The road on the dam can be destroyed by collapsing the road above the floodgate sections, but was also not done.

These plans should have been made even before the possibility of withdraw from Hama, definitely carried out the moment Hama withdraw begun.
Yeah. At the end of the day competence determines a lot.

People might be laughing at Russia for it's mistakes in Ukraine. Then you see guys in the middle east and parts of Africa and realize there are levels to this. The Syrian government has like a decade worth of experience yet here we are. Stuff like this makes me appreciate Russia's tenacity and ability to quickly adapt on the spot.

It's harsh but a lot of this world are simply side characters who are pawns to be played by the main characters.

My issue with a lot of the Global South is they rely too much on bigger guys to save them. You're the underdog here against the havers who rigged the system in their favour. You're gonna have to fight harder for yourself just to not get crushed.

Sad to see the place end up being something like a mix of Libya and Afghanistan. Once the loonies are done at the local fronts, they'll start sprading out to the neighbours.
Indeed. I am pissed about it.

But this is reality. The SAA was bought more time thanks to guys like Russia. And yet they repaid them doing stuff like this...

It's too early to go dooming but it doesn't inspire confidence right now.

This should be dedicated to the people who shed tears for the Palestinians in Gaza, and then cheer for HTS, FSA and their other Takfiri friends in Syria:

We are open to friendship with everyone in the region – including Israel. We don’t have enemies other than the Assad regime, Hezbollah and Iran. What Israel did against Hezbollah in Lebanon helped us a great deal. Now we are taking care of the rest.
We will go for full peace with Israel, we will live side by side as neighbors. Since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war, we have never made any critical comments against Israel, unlike Hezbollah, who stated they aim to liberate Jerusalem and the Golan Heights [which Israel took from Syria during the Six-Day War in 1967 and annexed]. Our only focus is to get rid of Assad and the Iranian militias.

Hopefully, we will coexist in harmony and we will transform this region and take it from a state of war into a state of economic progress, perhaps with Israeli and American aid for reconstruction. We will take it on a different path than Iran and Hezbollah.
Wonderful words. No lies. Unlike Erdogan.

I'm really surprised how many Muslims still think they can win just because Allah is on their side and they are one big unmah or caliphate. It hasn't worked that way for centuries.

And even during their better periods, some Muslims were more responsible for results than others. A lot of strong leaders and warriors were all the way from the Russian Caucauses. So is it really Allah or is it just they were lead by guys from more competent areas?

Absolutely nobody in the business world would be interested to invest in a Terrorist Wildlands.
Its funny when you realize not even the US invested in their own conquests in Afghanistan and Iraq, but China is somehow expected to invest in shitholes created by NATO and friends, lol

So much for the "sunni rebels" doing more for Gaza than Assad, lol. As if Israel won't blow their kids up and rape their women just as easily.
