In Star wars You go to the Darkside. In trek you do what is best for your people and sometimes it makes you a monster.
I am sorry Miragedriver Star wars is all wiz bang pow blasters there is no drama. Star trek may come off as preachy but it has more realism not with the tech but with the drama. Star wars is a kids Show, Star trek is a adult drama.

Now now my friend TerraN. No need to get all worked up. This is just fun and games. I could easily counter all your points, but that will be non-productive.

The main thing is this:
a) Do we enjoy going to see both movies-----yes
b) Do we have a preference---yes
c) Will we keep counter pointing and adding more posts to our tally---yes
d) Do we secretly wish we were one of the characters in the movie—yes
e) Do we wish we made a salary like the actors in the movie---yes
f) Do we agree on most everything we mutually post on SD—yes
g) Do we each come up with great sarcastic comments---yes (still laughing over the drop kittens line)
h) Is Serenity and Babylon 5 worse than SW or ST—yes

See……no problem…

We just have to stay out of the socialist re-education camps.

Just started watching this today.

The way that they carry out the "comedy" for the battle droids is so jarring. The instant one of them speaks, every battle immediately feels like a play made for infants, and I feel zero concern for the protagonist because they're clearly being chased by idiots.

Neat effects though.

Yea, as comically inept as SF canon fodder is like Cylons, Stormtroopers and Red/Gold shirts are, at least they give an appearance of professionalism that implies intimidation.

I think the comedic sequences and the dumbing down of the droids is because so many children watch this program. It's called cartoon violence.

That just denegrates the series and the property as they treat their audience wit disrespect because they are stuck in the 1980s, compare this to cartoons under the DCAU label where the villains and henchmen are usually competent

That's why people respect Star Trek so much because of it's consistency to playing to a wider adult audiences.:eek:
