Star Wars & Sc-Fi Talk

I highly doubt JJ Abrams' Star Wars will dethrone Avatar. Unlike James Cameron, JJ Abrams has a significant amount of people in movie fandom who loathe his association in any movie or TV show. Anybody seen the 2nd season of Revolution? Classic JJ Abrams storytelling spiraling out of control.

Samuel L. Jackson was interviewed recently saying that he, Mark Hamill, and Ewan McGregor have not been asked to return to the next Star Wars. Yeah maybe because at least two of their characters are dead. And I don't think they should be playing up the ghost thing that much because they can't do anything but give information so it sort of becomes a cop-out. The only saving grace for this movie might be Lawrence Kasdan is back to writing for Star Wars. Just leave out the Ewoks.

What no Ewoks!? What are stormtroopers suppose to use for target practice? And what about those of us that want to see Ewoks get blasted?!

Does Ewoks taste any good? Anybody in the universe knows a good recipe for it?

Don't worry JJ Abrams will have plenty of plot holes for Stormtroopers to shoot at.

didn't the Ewoks end up using the Stormtroopers for target practice? I distinctly remember a Ewok making some storm troopers his B*****.

JJ was a star wars fan so maybe we can enjoy this one.

I saw this video on youtube titled "Top 10 sci-fi movie battles". What are yours and what do you think of this list?

I'll agree with #1 and #2 and some of the others but some aren't really full-fledged battles. Yeah I would love to see an all-out Terminator battle but they didn't show that in the movies. What they didn't include are some spectacular battles in Japanese anime. Anyone seen the Macross movie aka Robotech? There were some awesome battles in there. I remember seeing this Japanese anime movie where a group of people were stranded on planet that was guarded by a gazillion flying spherical robot sentries. When they go on the attack they would ram and explode or open up to expose a mouth-full of razor sharp metal teeth and they would bite down and then explode. A lot of heads being chomped down on and then exploding. Also they had tentacles that reel out to pull you in and then chomp-down on the head and explode. Very thrilling seeing the characters trying to survive.

I feel like the battle of coruscant in revenge of the sith deserves to have a spot in that.

Sure, what we saw in the movie itself was short, but I remember watching that in theatres and seeing the two jedi starfighters weave in and out of republic and separatist ships was as thrilling if not more thrilling, than any of the original trilogy starfighter/space battles, the snowspeeder vs atat battle included.

I know it doesn't include TV but I would say the last Dominion War battle in Star Trek DS9 was pretty good for a TV show.

The newer Battle Star Galactica series had some really good battle scenes.
