A few months ago when the tickets were available for Star Wars my step son purchased 4 tickets. Myself, my stepson , son-in-law and 17yr old grandson watched the film.

I will not spoil the film.

I truly enjoyed the film. The drama was tense. the plot while simple was good. The movie paid lots of respect to "A New Hope" and the 'Empire Strikes Back" The action was great but not over the top. The movie was most enjoyable. There were a couple of real surprises..oh yeah...I'll go see it again!

I came....I saw (last night) and it's ok, NOT great or anything. I don't know the story lines and plot are too predictable. AJ Abrams is over rated as a director on this one. I guess I expected way too much.

OK, my discussion is about the true identity of Rey. In the movie, she hinted that she was waiting for someone on the planet of Jaku. So it sounds that she knew exactly who she was. Some people on the internet have suggested that she was the twin sister of Ren, the major villain in the movie. However, I do not think so. I think she's the daughter of Luke's.

Why? When Rey mentioned to Hao Solo that he's like the father that she never had, Han didn't even flinch. Han should know very well that he had a daughter and she's left on the planet of Jaku. Even if Han didn't know he was looking at his own daughter since she had grown, the mention of him being a father to a young girl should stir up a lot of emotion from a father who had to literally abandon his daughter on a desert planet to fend for herself. Especially, Rey mentioned several times that she was waiting for someone who had promised to come and looked for her. If Han had made such promise, he should definitely remember it. It would be a hint that no father should ever ignore. Yet, Han only showed his appreciation for Rey's affection. Leia also did not do anything when she found out that Rey was from Jaku. As loving parents, Leia and Han showed a whole lot of emotion for Ren. Yet, nothing at all toward Rey who was supposed to be the only innocent bystander but gotten the harshest punishment out of the whole deal. So I don't think Rey is Han and Leia's daughter.

Yet, how she acted when facing Luke was a totally different story. She was crying and Luke was crying. Yoda was not emotional at all when Luke first stopped by. Yoda knew that the new hope was coming well before Luke showed and he knew Luke was their only hope. The situation of the Resistance in the new movie was a lot better and much less desperate than when Luke was young and beginning to learn to become a Jedi with Yoda. Yet, Luke's emotion was stirred up in a major way. It fits that a father was seeing his long-lost daughter for the first time after he had to abandon her on a crazy planet.

For months I figured Ren and Rey weren't siblings they did that already in the EU books. Rey is clearly younger than Ren and he would have definitely known he was dealing with his sister.

In the movie if you noticed in the Millennium Falcon When Rey is amazed at how green the planet was Han glanced at her like what she said reminded him of someone else probably Luke. Now when Rey gets to Luke I see more of a I'm looking at a ghost from my past since Rey looks so much like her mother. Luke is standing over a grave which I think is were Rey's mother is buried.

I think Rey's mom was one of Luke's Jedi in training which may also explain how she could out force pull Ren for the lightsaber. Luke hooked up with Rey's mom before his new Jedi were wiped out. Rey's mom probably left her own on Jakku to find Luke while also keeping her hidden from the Knights of Ren. She probably didn't tell Luke or died before she could which might explain why no one knows Luke had a child.

Even the Honey Badger kinda enjoyed the movie, I liked parts of it, but it has been "disneyed", not in the spirit of Walt Disney, but in the spirit of a PC big business, pop culture icon, you knew it was going to happen as well as I did.

I loved "Star Wars", I loved Top-Gun, I didn't want to( my wife drug me to see "War Room") but I loved it as well, (lots of Christian movies come off as manipulative and light on truth), but "War Room" was very good, I'm not per se a Trekkie, and I haven't really had any desire to see all those movies.

Okay so I also saw episode 7. My thoughts.
first if I was to rate in stars 8/10. Sorry maybe the environment I saw it in detracted. Theater was packed and the kid next to me was jumping up and down and repeating every line. I'll give it another try when it hits ITunes. Overall story was pretty good, but they kept repeating concepts and ideas from the past. The star killer base being a mega sized death star.
The way Ren bumped of Han echoes the confrontation between Luke and Vader. It was just so familiar I felt force sensitive watching it as I could see where it was going before it went there. I hope the next one will be a bit more original. Mean time I am waiting for Dr. Who.
