They might have spied on Broncos' games. Belichick has been caught video recording their opponent's coaches conversations before. It's hard to believe that the Seahawks would have been able to figure out Manning's signals at game time. It's equally hard to believe that they would have waited until game time to figure it out. They have done their homework. Well, what can I say? Manning was outplayed.

Seahawks defensive coaches and players had watched films from previous games to see how Manning signals were used against other teams, that's how they can figure out the Broncos habits in every situation and conditions. It's legal for both teams to obtain game films from previous opponents before the game, BUT it is illegal to film and watch the other teams play calls and signals during game time, although you can take notes and distribute it at half time.

Too bad this tourney takes place in April for the US. The NBA regular season will be winding down. I doubt if any NBA players will be available for the US side..

are you sure it's April? NBA players have participated in FIBA tournaments before. Plus, some of the best international players, like Nowitzki, play in the NBA. In order for them to play in the FIBA games, they have to finish their season plus time to practice with new teammates for international games. So it can't be in April.

I don't have the time to get value from subscribing to paid television just to watch sport. Most of my sport watching is done at my local bar which is just a few doors along from my apartment. However NBA is not high on the bars agenda and I don't think that I have ever watched a game or even read any printed matter on the competition for quite a few years.

Despite that I would have been prepared to wager that there is enough depth in American basketball talent , that even a C team could take on the rest of the world and beat them. or has NBA with import talent allowed the rest of the world to catch up?

Since we don't have a dedicated thread for the Sochi 2014, I'll post it here.

Let's hope that there will be no terrorist attack at the event.

I've watched the opening ceremony and it was good. I especially like the historical context to theme and brings out the culture of Russia that I've never knew about.

I really like the opening exercise too. Not only was it a great historical/cultural presentation...but it was also just...well, decent.

Some of the more gaudy, sensual presentations they have had at some of the other Olympics I could hardly watch, and in fact turned a couple of them off, muttering something like, "Jeez, how inappropriate. Let's get on with the competition already."

But I have to admit my wife and I had no such feelings about these opening exercise.

I'm not a fan of much of anything that is on Tv these days for the reasons Jeff describe. Much of it is inappropriate. We say.."would we sit down and watch this with Jesus?

Anyway I've never cared much for any Olympics sports..winter or summer games. I just don't.

I like, American football, baseball & basketball..toss in the occasional NASCAR race.. that is it...I do follow women's tennis & PGA golf but seldom watch. That's why God invented highlights!

In fact, I don't follow Olympic events either. I'm not interested in running, jumping or swimming types of sport. My favorite sports are association football, table tennis, I watch basket ball once a while but not so excited because it scores too easily. Shooting is completely nut for me. You watch someone standing there and shoot but you don't even see what he's aiming at. Olympic just has too many types of sport, and I don't even know how to call some of them.

Well, in High School I was involved in football, baseball, and track & field, until my last two years in High School, when my Dad made us all choose just one sport so our studies would not suffer as we prepared for college.

My sons and two of my daughters did pretty much the same.

So we like to watch the events...like the downhill skiing, the new snow boarding events, the skating, and the various races and jumps. Also like the bi-athalon, all in the Winter Olympics. Having done quite a bit of skiing and snow-shoeing in earlier years, it is interesting to me.

I will tell you this, the downhill run this Olympics for the men was one very long and very fast course. Dropped over 3,500 feet in 2 1/2 miles and those guys had to be pushing 90 miles per hour. Pretty amazing. Also really like the new "Slopestyle" competition in the snowboarding...amazing jumps those guys did.

I was always pretty leary of snow boarding here in the western US when it really started taking off 20 years or so ago. but then my two sons got into it...and I tried it myself about 15+ years ago. I did not like it myself and stuck with skis, but my sons got prett good at it and had a lot of fun on the lopes.
