Each NOC can only send up to 6 participants to Paris Olympics in weigh lifting, it will definitely limit China potential for gold medal.

Weight lifting will be gone in 2028 Los Angeles and 2024 is the only chance for china to obtain more gold medal than US until 2032 (Beijing does not count due to home advantage)

Los Angeles does not count as the US has the home advantage.

That makes Tang the 4th fastest female 50m breaststroke swimmer of all time. She's only 19, so she still has so much potential
Yes, but that is not the most impressive. The most impressive is that Tang lost to Ruta due to technical fault, NOT because she was just too slow. This was touched upon by the Chinese commentator; as soon as the race ended, he said, "Tang's finish was flawed and she will have to work on that in the future." Swimmers count strokes and know how many it takes for them to finish the 50 meter pool. It seems Tang lost track somewhere and that caused her stroke to be out of tune with the length of the pool. Ruta finished perfectly; on the last stroke, with outstretched arms, she powered into the wall. Tang's outstretched arms missed the wall by about a foot or 2 and she had to initiate another stroke, rescinding her arms, and that caused her race time to be suboptimal. If she had not made that mistake, she would have been faster and she might have beaten Ruta. Despite this mistake, she still made 2 Asian records in 2 swims. This competition really did what it was supposed to for these young swimmers, which is give them experience and this one will serve her well.

She broke the Asian record 3 times in three swims. 29.93s in the heats, 29.80 in SF and then 29.51 for the silver medal. But 50m breast is not an event at the Paris Olympic games.

Oh shit, I didn't know that it's not an Olympic event. That sucks for her. Tell the US if they wanna add any more swimming medals, we'll take that one LOL

That's not correct to the best of my knowledge.

Just found out that Katie from US was beaten by Canadian in 800m freestyle. I think it is a good news for China as she won't gold medals in last few Olympics in 800m and 1500m freestyle for US
