The Chinese cheated by using wind tunnels and machine learning to improve swimming stances.

Worse, Chinese swimmers copied and stole American swimmers' movements stroking with arms and kicking water with legs BUT American swimmers still have Freedom and Democracy on their side. Besides, to America, a bronze is just as good as a gold in the medal count.

Also unfair competition because Asians have less body hair.

US must ban Chinese swim trunks made with slave Uigher labor.

This competition is absolute and clear proof of China's genocide against the Uighers and Tibetans since there aren't any on the Chinese team.

OK, so tomorrow, the women's 50m Breaststroke will be China's first chance to overtake the historic 23 medals mark. We do have to remember, though, that there are many more events today than there were decades back when the US did it, so with medal inflation, 23 ain't really the same. Nonetheless, it's still a record if it comes true.

Our 19 year old Tang Qianting will take on super-veteran 26 year old Lithuanian Ruta Meilutyte with 30 gold medals in her career (I write dramatically; I've never heard of her until this moment), for the championship, barring any dark horses. We finished second to her in the semifinals.

Comment sections to China's relay victories are hilarious. Americans spam-posting, "THESE ARE NOT OUR CHAMPIONS!! THEY ARE ONLY OUR B TEAM!!" without even realizing that much of China's A-team is also at home and they're competing against a group of 16-19 year olds just out for experience. Of course that's easy to forget when these kids making Asian and World Records.

Not sure if any people follow MMA or combat sports but some Light Heavyweight fighter named Zhang Mingyang won his debut via brutal fashion.

Maybe he will another guy with the Zhang surname that might achieve greatness like Zhang Zhilei or Zhang Weili.
I am a fan of combat sports (boxing, MMA) and been wanting to have many more Chinese/Asian fighters succeed in the UFC and Zhang's win just add to that hope. Having said that, Zhang needs to add/train on his defense because he was eating and getting hit pretty successfully by Hibiero in the face. If the Brazilian guy had more power it would have disadvantaged Zhang very badly and could have resulted with a loss instead of the win. Luckily, Zhang got MAJOR PUNCHING POWER AND SPEED and that's what knocked the snuff out of Hibiero.

A lot of elite swimmers are not competing in Doha (including some in china) to prepare for the Olympics qualifier and Olympics.

Dude, do some homework. I asked how many days, did you check? The individual freestyle 200m for women was on 2/13. The relay was 2 days later on 2/15. So that's 2 days rest for 200m swims and she would not have been affected. Specifically, she swam the qualifiers right after her 1500m silver but then left off for a teammate to fill in for her at the finals (and that teammate came in last). This says to me something went wrong and she wasn't feeling well. You don't make athletes swim for other athletes who have no chance of winning if they were trying to conserve energy.

What could have gone wrong with her after the 200m freestyle heats? Li Bingjie who skipped the 200m freestyle and then showed up healthy in the 200m freestyle relay, was similar to Messi who skipped Hong Kong match, and then showed up healthy in Japan match.
It was all part of a plan.

Any more new and strong contenders from China?
I would doubt if there are more new contenders from china as it won't be prudent to have inexperienced people to compete in high pressure Olympics.

Consider that many countries will have Olympic trail in April this year and the jetlag and the disruption from traveling to Doha to compete in this event, many would opt for staying home to keep the regular practice routine. While China is doing well in swimming in Doha, it won't be easy to repeat in Olympics. But any gold that china can get could deny a gold that could be won by US, which has a net result of 2 golds.

It will surely help if Australia does well in events that China can't win to deny US gold medals, I think there is a real chance that China can win more gold medals in Paris than US.
